Mojo #70 and ramblings

A few years ago, we found out that I am allergic to our dog.  Its the best dog ever!  While we were in CA for the 9 months, Coco lived with my inlaws because we were in an apartment and there was not a lot of room for her crate (thats where her comfort place is, she was crate trained) anyhow.  So now that we have her back, when I'm around her it feels almost like I'm breathing in a chemical or something, I just don't have clean air.  So we are going to get a referral to an allergist just to get more info on what we can do (most DR's say get rid of the animal)  I really want to exhaust all options before we think about finding her a new family.  Jess thinks I may be getting asthma or am having a serious allergic reaction to her because my throat starts to swell.  My question to all of you is, or I guess I'm looking for advice.  Are you allergic to anything and what do you do when meds don't work or can't help?  Just to answer a few questions before they are brought up, we have a fancy pet vacuum and I vacuum everyday, my daughter brushes her, Coco right now isn't allowed in areas I mostly am in, Craft room living room, bedrooms just to prevent coming in contact with her hair/dander.  I'm desperate, this is our family dog, and it would be heartbreaking to take her from my children and on the same token my throat closing up, getting hives everyday and itching like crazy is not fun.

Ok, now on to the card...
I used the LSC204 (to use a black card base) and Julee T. Mojo sketch #70 for inspiration for this card.
The stamps and patterned paper are from Imaginisce.
"So Tweet"
Supplies used:
true black, stampers select white, Imaginisce Twitterpated dp
Imaginisce Snag em stamps, birdie and so tweet
Nestabilities, May Arts ribbon, twine, button

What a wonderfully bright and lively card! I love it!

My second son was also allergic to dogs... He had to have a nebulizer everyday so that we could keep our pets. Looking back on it now, I would have found another home for them instead of making my little guy go through that everyday. Not a good decision on my part. Wish that I had a solution for you other than what the doctors are suggesting. :(

Cute card!
As for the allergy...my son is highly allergic to nuts. we carry epipens with up at all times. We got him tested when he'd complain about his throat every time he ate nuts. He also takes Zyrtec (sp?) everyday for other unknown allergies...even when he doesn't have symptoms. I don't know if any of this helps. I hope you can keep Coco...I'll keep you in my thoughts!

First of all, your card is just adorable! Love the colours!

Second, sorry to hear about the allergies vs dog situation. As an allergy sufferer myself I know how you feel - although yours seem a little more sever than mine. Maybe the allergist will be able to suggest a monthly shot or something. I hope they can help you. I couldn't imagine having to choose. xx

I love this card! So bright and cheerful. I feel for you about the dog. I don't know what we would do without ours. I know most docs say get rid of the dog simply because it's the quickest surest fix, but they must have a back-up plan for situations like yours! Good luck, and I'll be thinking of you.

Great card.

Good luck at the Dr, I sure hope you can figure out a way to keep your dog. We don't have allergies here, I am of no help in that department.

Latisha, your card is so bright and cheerful!!!! Love it. I used buttons today on mine!!!!!

I feel your pain about the allergies. I started having them when I was in my late 30s for the first time ever. I carry around a large ziploc with meds and have tubes in my ears. NOONE can cure the allergies just medicate them it seems. Some days I must lie down with a hot compress. Get air purifiers especially since you think it is the dog. IT is tough. Do you get chronic ear infections, or what? Mine are my ears....eustachion tube dysfunction. {{{{HUGS}}}}

Cute card. As for the pet allergy, I have a friend who found out she is allergic to her cat. She refused to get rid of the cat and now takes a shot every so often and daily medication and it seemed to work very well. I hope everything works out for you, your dog and your family!

Gorgeous card ,girl - I love the Dp!

I too am allergic to dogs and we have four! I just bathe them a lot with oatmeal shampoo and that controls the dander which is what we are allergic too!!

Latisha,
I feel your pain with allergies. My biggest problem is perfumes so I have found the best solution is to stay away from people. It is not always easy but I am learning that breathing is much preferred. Have you tried having your dog as mainly and out side dog and just let her in a little bit each day. I have done this and we have not had to get rid of our dog. I will pray that you find a solution.
Your card is beautiful.
Hi! great Card! :)

I have idiopathic hives...so I can totally relate! I take clairitin in the am and zyrtec at night plus MSM supplements...it keeps me from breaking out...if you know its your dog get a hepa filter to keep the dander in check.

Good Luck! Hives are the worst!
Oh, this is just darling! Love it! Thanks for playing. :)
