Candy treat bag

Happy New Year!!
Did you all make it through the holidays?  I know I put on a few pounds for sure lol.
Today I am showing another project using the January stamp set from Avocado Arts.  I decided to make a treat container, perfect for Valentine's Day.  I scored some scrap card stock, stamped my images onto them, then stapled it to a glassine bag filled with candy.
Take a little hop to see what these lovely ladies made as well!

You warm my heart

Hello there!
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!  We had a water leak in our house, so the days leading up to Christmas were spent with many contractors in our home.  The saddest part for me, was that my craft room was affected.  The walls are now fixed, but I am waiting on new carpet.  So in the mean time, I have to clear my entire room out (not fun).
But today, I have a fun and quick project to share with you.  I am using the newest stamp set from Avocado arts, and if you are a coffee lover like me, this is the set for you!  Head on over to these lovely ladies blogs to see what they have created for you as well today!!

Lawn Fawn & Faber-Castell

This week, Lawn Fawn is teaming up with Faber-Castell, to bring you some great projects using products from both companies.  Make sure to head on over to the Lawn Fawn blog, for a giveaway, and more inspiration, and information.
I received a blue mixed media package to work with.  It has a few pencils, gelato, a big brush and artist pen.  In my supplies, I had some FB watercolor pencils as well.  To create the blue background, I applied a little bit of water, to get my paper moist.  I then dipped my brush into water, and picked up color from the blue gelato.  I didn't want a dark color, so this took a little bit of time, making sure the blue stayed muted.  For the rainbow panel, I got a watercolor pencil, lightly made a line across the paper, and did this with red, orange, yellow, green, blue & purple.  Then, applied water to create a watercolor rainbow.  I stamped the sentiment from Sunny Skies, and die cut it out using a Spellbinders rectangle die template.

Hello there!
Today, I am sharing a fun banner I made to hang on my Christmas Tree.  I used Warm Woolen Mittens stamp set, Mistletoe Memories stamp set, Grand Banners cut file & Winter Sentiments cut file (that coordinate with Mistletoe Memories perfectly).

The center banner, was created by cutting out the elements (banner topper, banner shield & the sentiment).  I then stamped the Christmas text stamp in a green ink onto the white card stock, stamped the line in red ink, and the sentiment in black ink.  The kraft card stock on the backside, has the Christmas text stamped in red.  The topper was adhered to the banner using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L foam squares (small).

The outside edge banner pieces were created, again by cutting out the banner shield & topper.  Stamping the Christmas text in red ink onto the white card stock.  Stamping the mittens, coloring them in with Copic Markers, attaching ribbon to the mittens, and adhering them to the banner piece using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L foam squares.

So Sweet

The next few days, I will get to show you never been seen before stamp sets from Lawn Fawn, for this months Inspiration Week.  Today, I made a cute little card using a new set called, Here's the Scoop.  I just did some basic stamping onto kraft card stock.  The image was colored in using Copic markers, and the hearts were filled with star dust stickles (man I love stickles!).  To finish off the card, I added some glittery May Arts trim.
Head on over to the Lawn Fawn blog, for more great Inspiration using this fun stamp set.

Winter Wishes

So far, my Christmas cards have been pretty traditional in color...red & green, and I'm perfectly okay with that.  Today, is no exception, I tried to add in some blue, it just was not working.  The stamps and sentiment are from Avocado Arts, I paper pieced the cute little Christmas trees, stamped the star at the top, then went over it with red stickles, just to sparkle it up a bit.  Lucky me, I have some great glittery May Arts ribbon, that matched perfect.  The sentiment and card didn't look right just stamped once, so I stamped it three times, which helped balance out the card a little bit better.
How are you doing on your Christmas cards?  I have so many more to do!
Check out these lovely ladies, to see what they made as well!

Warm Winter Wishes

Wow!
November 30th.
I'm trying to wrap my head around, that it truly is almost December.  I'm not ready for December yet lol.  Well, at least I have one more Christmas card finished right?
I'm not a huge washi tape lover, however, I am in love with this particular role (it came in a Studio Calico kit...unsure of the origin/brand).  Red. which is one of my favorite colors with, snowflakes...sold!
So, I paired this fun washi tape, with the December stamp set from Avocado Arts.  I stamped the hat and mittens in a nice green ink (clearsnap), onto woodgrain card stock (studio calico), stamped my sentiment in black ink, then embellished the card with washi tape, sparkly May Arts ribbon, and a few red pearls.
Bright, happy, fun and ready to be mailed.
Take a quick visit to these ladies, to see what they made using this set as well.

For my project, I decided to make a pretty tag.  Can I just say, how much I love making tags?  I know I say it a lot, but they may be my favorite thing to make.  Can I also just say, that I am pretty sure, I'm addicted to this woodgrain textured card stock (got from studio calico).  I only have 10 sheets, so hopefully my crush will expire before I use all of it lol.

This tag was created by using the Mistletoe Memories clear stamp set, by Becky Oehlers.  The images are modern, bold and graphic.  In my opinion, the perfect combination for a stamp set.

Merry Christmas, clean and simple style

Today, I have another clean and simple Christmas card using the latest stamp set from Avocado Arts.  We all have so many cards to give and send out during the Holidays, so I like to keep them more on the simple side.  Why?  Because most people trash them.  I like to save my fancy cards, for those who will cherish the card.  But, for the most part, they are clean all the way baby.
The card is 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 inches (standard size card), and I started by just adding two strips of washi tape to the left hand side.  I then stamped the banner strip, and ornaments and colored them in using Copic markers that coordinated with the washi tape (easy right).  Then finished by adding the sentiment as well as some thick twine.  Cute and easy, not to mention another Christmas card stashed in my basket of cards ready for use.

If you have any further questions about this card, feel free to contact me at tishayoast@gmail.com with the subject as Holiday Christmas Tree Card.

Supply List:
     *  S4-339 2012 Holiday Tree (Spellbinders™ Paper Arts) MSRP $24.99

     *  Clear Snap licorice ink
     *  Ginak white card stock
     *  Pink ribbon

  1. Cut/emboss Grand Large Labels die #3 with white cardstock, using Grand Calibur®.  You will need two diecuts to create the cardbase.
  2. Score one diecut, ½" from the top.
  3. Adhere MyStik adhesive above the score line.
  4. Adhere other diecut, to form card base.

     5.  Using a smaller Grand Labels die #2, cut white cardstock with die template.
     6.  Place diecut into Flora M-Bossabilities folder, run through the Spellbinders™  Grand Calibur®machine.
     7.  Place die cut aside.

     8.  Place Scrapboook Adhesives by 3L white foam tape on the backside of the embossed die cut.
     9.  Adhere diecut to the card front.

     10.  Prepare Christmas tree die to create a die cut.  When using a die with a lot of detail for the first time, it can help by placing wax paper nearest to the die, then the card stock.  It will make getting the die cut out easier.
     11.  Cut/emboss cardstock.
     12.  Add foam squares on the backside of the die cut.  YOu will need to cut the squares with scissors, so they fit on the small space.
     13.  Adhere diecut to the card.

     14.  Cut/emboss cardstock.
     15.  Stamp sentiment in black ink, and adhere diecut to the tree using foam squares.
     16.  Add pink bling to Christmas tree.
