CPS #206

Image
Today I am showing my card using the CPS sketch #206 . I followed the sketch pretty exactly.  Sometimes I use a sketch as inspiration and a starting point, other times I use them exactly, it just depends on my mood, how much time I have to play and if my mojo is hanging around. Have you ever lost your voice from allergies before?  I think I did this weekend.  At first I thought I was getting a cold, but I really think it is outdoor allergies.  The pollen count is very high right now, and my car looks yellow from all the pollen on it.   Did you all have a nice long weekend?  My children had a 4 day weekend, so that was really nice to relax. I hope you have a great Tuesday! A simple treat bag (and tutorial)

Image
Last week, I created this fun tag for this treat sack. For the complete tutorial with step by step instructions, head on over to the Spellbinders Blog . One of my most favorite things to make with my die templates are tags, so I hope you enjoy the simple tutorial.   **tip** To get a nice embossed edge on your card stock, use a heavier card stock. In my sample I used Ginak pure luxury heavy weight card stock.

Lunar Lights: Happy Wishes

Image
Woohoo, it is Wednesday. This is a short school week for my children, so tomorrow is our Friday.  Plus no school on Monday. Hooray for four day weekends. So fabulous! My son is still sick.  Since I picked him up early on Friday, he is better, but not well enough to attend school yet.  On Sunday we went to the urgent care/ER at the Navy Hospital.  His rapid strep test came back negative, so they diagnosed him with a viral upper respiratory infection, which is doctor language for a super bad cold/flu.  If he isn't better in a few days we need to go back.  His cough is getting worse, and seems to be moving into his chest.  My daughter, isn't feeling too hot either, but she will not miss school.  At least she will have the weekend to recover. I am keeping myself hydrated to make sure I don't get their sickies.  I had that awful chest/head cold around the holidays, and I was out for around 3-4 weeks.  No thank you, I do not want a round two lol. Well, here is another card using

Paper Smooches

Image
Happy Friday! My day started off great.  I took my children to school, came home grabbed a few items then was off to meet a few girlfriends at our local scrapbook store.  Asela brought the cutest stamp sets from Paper Smooches .  It is a new stamp company owned by none other that Kim Hughes .  I am so happy she is illustrating again.  She has a very distinct style, and I love her font, which happens to be her hand writing.  I hear she will be releases a few stamp sets every month (how cool!).  Paper Smooches has a blog too, her design team is pretty much amazing, so be sure to check them out.  The stamps are made from photopolymer, so they are a very high quality clear stamp. Just a simple card to show you today.  As Asela was about to leave the store, I asked to use the stamps really fast, and created this card.  It really only took a few minutes.  I now have a super fun birthday card just waiting to give away. While I was at the scrapbook store, my son's school called me and

Lawn Fawn February sneaks day 2

Image
Welcome to day 2 of the Lawn Fawn sneaks, of Lunar Lights. A short and sweet post today, my brain is mush.  We had warm weather, and it stirred up my allergies, so my brain isn't working right lol. Something a little clean to show. I used some really pretty papers from Graphic 45.  LOVE those fairies. Plus, I needed to add some Teresa Collins Blingage, so fabulous. Make sure to head on over to the Lawn Fawn blog for you chance to win this set. Lawn Fawn February Sneak!

Image
It is time to sneak a new set from Lawn Fawn called Lunar Lights. It is a fun and whimsical stamp set that has Lanterns or what some call Tea Light Lanterns.  However you describe them, they are SUPAH cute! I am showing two very different cards today. One where the lanterns are paper pieced, and one with them colored in. Not everyone likes to color, so something for everyone, right? Make sure you head on over to the Lawn Fawn blog , for your chance to win this set!  Woot!  Free stuff! Oh, before I forget, I want to welcome Julie & Chan to the design team.  They pretty much rock my socks off.  Yep, they are that awesome! Here is my first card, fun pattern paper, some paper piecing, a little bit of Copic coloring, bling, twine and a die cut using a Spellbinders Labels Twenty die template. Here is a card that I had shown a few weeks ago, and wanted to show it again in case you all didn't see it.  I used the smaller lanterns on this card, and colored them in using Copic Markers.

Friends & chit chat

Image
The first week of February has come and gone. Did you all watch the Super Bowl?  I kind of watched, but mostly made cards lol. The Packers won, but I still stand by my comment that the Steelers have a much better color combination. Did you see that Christina Aguilara messed up the lyrics to the National Anthem?  OMGoodness, how embarrassing. Anyhow, it is Monday, and I am ready to start my week.  Lots of fun stuff this week.  The key to a successful deployment is to keep busy.  You really need big girl panties to be a Military Spouse, some woman just break, it is really sad to see that happen.   I just got side tracked...sorry about that.  So this week, the boy has Boy Scouts, I plan on going to lunch or dinner during the week with great friends, maybe going to a coffee crop on Friday, Disney World on Saturday, then a Valentine's Day dinner with some of the wives on Sunday.  Sometimes being this busy is nutty, but my days go by so fast...and I like that. Well, I was creating cards

Chit Chat

Wow, the weather most of the US is having right now is pretty nuts! Here in Florida, we will have rain and thunderstorms the next few days.  I will gladly take the rain over snow...anyday.  I do not miss living in the north east states.  It is very beautiful, but just was not for me.  We were able to live in New York (where my son was born) also in Connecticut.  Yes, New England has true four seasons, however winter seemed to last 5 & 6 months.  It was hard for this born and raised California girl to get used to that, my soul requires more sunshine than that.  Plus, we lived on a corner, at the bottom of a hill, and it seemed like the plows would just dump the heavy plowed snow right in front of my drive way.  It was so hard to shovel that stuff!  Every time a Nor-easter would roll on through, 99% of the time, my husband was out to sea.  I did not fancy shoveling snow alone lol. Anyhow... So my camera battery died, so no crafty project shown today. Instead I will show you a few thi
