Happy Thanksgiving

Image
Do you ever send Thanksgiving cards out?  To be honest, I make them, but don't send them.  Maybe this year I will actually get one into the mail?  I'm a cardmaker, not the best card sender lol.  I think the latest stamp set from Avocado Arts will help me on my mission to send a Thanksgiving card out.  It has classic images mixed with a few punny images/sentiments, to make this a great all around fall set. Visit the other Avocado Arts designers today, to see what they created using this set. "Ello

Image
Hello there!! Just to catch a few of you up to speed, did you know GinaK Designs now has the option to buy each stamp set in either Clear Stamps or Red Rubber?  Yes they do!!  So, so, so awesome for those of you who love clear stamps.  Hooray!! Okay, now for the good stuff.  Did you see the latest release from Becky Oehlers?  It is called, You Say Goodbye & I Say Ello (is that not the cutest name or what!) . Check out the stamp set here.  It is beyond adorable. I made a card using a great "go to" sketch for me.  I was able to showcase that great background builder stamp in the set, as well as one of the cute, cute, cute coffee mugs and the sentiment "ello".  Adorbs if I do say so myself.  After I stamped the background in red ink, I added the green ribbon for a nice contrast.  Then cut/embossed white card stock using a Spellbinders circle die template.  I left the card stock in the die, then sponged yellow ink into the die cut.  I then stamped the coffe

Interlocking backdrops

The project I'm showing today, is showcasing the new stamp set from Lawn Fawn called Interlocking backdrops.  These background builders are a little larger and bolder, which are awesome!  One of the great things about stamping, is the great ability to create custom pattern paper.  I know I'm going to be using these stamps a lot. Falala Christmas Folio set

Image
Here is a cute little stationery set I made using the new Falala paper line from Lawn Fawn.  By cutting this out using my Cameo, I was able to complete this project pretty fast.  To the folio, I just added some yellow card stock and a Falala sticker, and some hemp cord.  Then on the card, I stamped just a little bit and added a strip of pattern paper.  Easy peasy. Head on over to the Lawn Fawn blog for a chance to win this paper line.  Also, there are some great projects to check out using this paper line. Sweet Christmas

Image
Today, is the start of the September Inspiration Week from Lawn Fawn.  The designers are showcasing the Sweet Christmas stamp set today.  The card I made below, took a little bit of time to make, because of all of the different techniques I used (stamping, paper piecing, coloring, using stickles)...but mostly because of the stickles...those things take forever to dry!!  But I seriously cannot help myself, the glitter looks so good in person. Twelve Blogs of Christmas!!

Image
Welcome to the Paper Crafts, Twelve Blogs of Christmas blog hop.  You should have arrived from Vanessa's blog.  Today, take a few minutes to visit each designer for a chance to win this special issue, as well as The Paper Crafts Connection  and Moxie Fab World .  If this issue sells like most years, it can be very hard to find once it hits the stands (so pick it up when you see it, or buy it online ).   Here is the cover...isn't it pretty?! Each designer has chosen a Simple Sentiments (that are free) digital file to use on their project.   Here is the link to all of the sentiments used today.  I chose to use the Merry Christmas sentiment.  All I did was, download the sentiment, opened it up in Word, printed it out onto to card stock and then die cut it out, to use on my card. Head on over to Jocelyn's blog next! In case you are just starting the hop, here in the complete list of designers to visit.  You will have unit Sept 25th, to comment for a

Today the entire Avocado Arts Design Team is sneaking the October stamp set.  For my card, I stamped the bouquet of wheat onto kraft card stock, and then stamped the sentiment in black over them.  To embellish the card, I added black pearls on either side of the sentiment, then added lace and silk ribbon at the bottom of the card.  Visit the Avocado Arts blog , and the rest of designers for more sneaks! September 1, 2012!  Wow!!  I hope all of the US citizens have a safe 3 day weekend, celebrating Labor Day.  I'm going to "try" and get my craft room in order...I will see how much I get done.  These days my craft time is often competing for my reading time (I'm and avid reader, and usually read 4 books a week, if not more). Anyhow, here is another card using the September stamp set from Avocado Arts.  Check out the other designers, to see their projects using this set as well.
