Lawn Fawn February sneaks day 2

Image
Welcome to day 2 of the Lawn Fawn sneaks, of Lunar Lights. A short and sweet post today, my brain is mush.  We had warm weather, and it stirred up my allergies, so my brain isn't working right lol. Something a little clean to show. I used some really pretty papers from Graphic 45.  LOVE those fairies. Plus, I needed to add some Teresa Collins Blingage, so fabulous. Make sure to head on over to the Lawn Fawn blog for you chance to win this set. Mass produced Thank You cards

Image
I had family visiting this past week, all of you military folks out there know how special it is when you have visitors, because it doesn't happen often enough.  Anyhow, they left yesterday, so today I needed to make some thank you cards.  Some of the people who read my blog do not craft (crazy I know!) so today I am walking you through my thinking process when I make a card. So because I have to make more than one card, I am going to mass produce.  I went and got one 12x12 sheet of cardstock (bazzill) at the bottom cut off a 4x12 inch slice (then cut 4 inches off of it so its 4x8) Go back to the  sheet and its now a 12x8 inches, which will give you 3 more 4x8 inch pieces of paper.  Just so you are not lost, you should have 4 pieces of paper that are 4x8 inches and then an extra piece that is 4 inches square (put that in scrap pile)  Score the 4 sheets at 4 inches.  This will now give you 4, four inch square card bases.  Still with me? Now go and get your favorite background stamp ...

Inspired Happiness

Image
I have been feeling really inspired to create lately, I think its because I only buy what I love now & not stuff that is on sale or what seems to be a trend.  Don't get me wrong I love new stuff, I just know more about what I use and what I don't use and I kind of have stopped hoarding and I'm using up my stuff. (amazing I know lol) So this card I just love, I don't think I can ever mail it out.  Do any of you do that?  This card is the whole enchilada.  I stamped, sewed, used chipboard, covered the chipboard, slapped on some buttons, twine & lace, used some yummy Noteworthy paper & the result is one paperlicious card >" "Happiness" Noteworthy paper, Unity August kit of the month stamps, retired SU card stock, button, chipboard, lace, twine Before I made the card I made this chipboard tag, I'm thinking I will turn it into a magnet or put in on my bookshelf in my room or use it as a bookmark.  Who knows what I will do with it?  I like it...

thinking of you

Now that the kids and I are getting in the groove of schooling, I only have a limited time to make cards.  WT180 was to have tearing in the card.  I have found that when you tear designer paper it looks better because most brands have a white core, its not dyed all the way through.  The image is from Unity's Tiny Trinity, and the sentiment is from Papertreyink's Anniversary set.  I used Graphic 45 paper {i know again} I can't help myself lol, and Prism paper.  The ribbon is 5/8 in grosgrain ribbon from SU. Tiny Trinity Hello & Olympic Ramblings

Image
Is anyone else watching the Olympics?  I love them, on my must do list in my lifetime is to attend one, it would be so amazing.  My parents divorced when I was young, so to keep us busy we had to play a sport (and an instrument) so these are the sports I did, volleyball, swimming, track & baseball (with the boys) plus when my Dad ran his 5-10 mile a day run, we had to ride our bike with him or stay home and clean.  Needless to say sports was huge in my family.  I am addicted to the Olympics I wish it wasn't on in the middle of the night, I feel like I'm missing alot.  Did you hear they are thinking about getting rid of softball & baseball because no one can beat the US, that is so messed up in my opinion.  Anyhow you are not here to here about that on to the card >" Today's color challenge is to use Close to Cocoa, Ruby Red & Blush Blossom.  This actually is a really pretty color combination, I will have to file it away in my favorites.  I used all three...
