Happy Halloween

Image
Happy Halloween!! With one of my children off at college, and the other one in the 8th grade.  Halloween isn't as festive as it used to be.  I still wanted my son to feel special (he is going to a Halloween Party, not trick or treating) so I made his a little candy filled glasine bag. The "boo" letters were die cut from the black Fancy Pants corrugated card stock, using Lawn Fawn Cuts.  I adhered the diecuts onto the tag (Fancy Pants True Friend Tags), and added a few alphabet sticker as well as a cute owl sticker. It's so strange the way a family dynamic can change, when one of your children go away to college.  We went from a family of four, to a family of 3.  Plus with Jess being a pilot in the Navy, sometimes it's just a family of two, me and Jacob. We had a really good weekend.  On Friday, we went & played laser tag, then went to this place that serves hot dogs outside of a bar.  I know that sounds crazy, but these hotdogs are super good.  All beef, cheese, relish, onions and a little bit of mustard & catchup.  Delicious! Then yesterday, we took a drive to St. Augustine, went to a few galleries, a few antique shops, a used bookstore, a great stationery & stamp store...what else?  Oh we got fresh fudge & ice cream from this candy shop, and we had Starbucks.  It was really hot & sticky but nice.  The piece de resistance for my son, was that we got him a Key Blade (like from Kingdom Hearts). So now it is Sunday, and I typicall...

You Make My Heart Happy

So, my daughter is off at college.  She is attending Florida State University, around 3 1/2 hours from home.  I just moved her in on Sunday (6 days ago), and I already miss her.  I wish I could just give her a hug, buy her a brownie and Starbucks, tell her how much I love her & how proud I am of her, but I cannot.  FaceTime, Skype, texting, phone calls help me get through each day, but it doesn't compare to seeing her face to face. I am sending her this card, with a little note of encouragement.  I hope it makes her smile.
