Hello & Thinking of You

Image
Hello friends! Taylored Expressions is releasing new stencils and blender brushes today! The blender brushes are smaller, to fit into all the nooks and crannies of your stencils. Which is perfect for stencils where you use a multitude of colors.  Sometimes when creating a stenciled background, I want a muted color and not something as bold and bright as white cardstock. Once the card base and diecut "hello" were created using plum punch cardstock. The process of going through my TE cardstock to find a color that coordinated, started. From past cards, plum punch & peaches and cream go so well together and have been some of my personal favorites, it was an easy decision to make. The stencil was secured over the panel using purple tape. Then using a variety of ink colors and blender brushes, the gradient rainbow was created. Once finished inking a background, the "hello" diecut was adhered to the card using foam adhesive. The crystals were added for a final embell...

Taylored Expressions Happy Fall

Image
Hello friends! I am sharing a few projects with you today, from the Tayloreed Expressions Fall/Thanksgiving release.  I peeked into the design team photos, and wow! There are so many beautiful projects going to be shown today. The A game was brought for sure. This first card looks fairly simple, but a lot of love, time and math went into it.  I stamped the background stamp onto a white panel, which has the leave stems. The stencils are created so that you can have an array of leaf colors on the stems. I wanted an ombre fall card, so as I layered each stencil, I only applied each ink color in a third of the card. Once the stenciling was complete I used the same inks to blend on the edges so the white wasn't so bright. Once the ink was dry, I took a white gel pen and went over the edges of each leaf.  The "happy fall y'all" stamp was stamped multiple times with the same inks, then diecut out with the coordinating die. Twine was added to embellish.  For my s...

Effortless Greetings by Laurie Willison & Spellbinders

Image
Hello friends. For those who celebrate I hope you enjoy this Easter weekend. How are all of you doing? Quarantine is weird. Some days I am fine and some days I find myself really missing my friends. Missing a great meal at my favorite restaurants or even just the simple pleasure of grocery shopping. Everything seems so stressful. But, I am so thankful that I have a craft room where I can escape and make pretty cards to send out.  Today my friend Laurie Willison has a new line of dies from Spellbinders called Effortless Greetings.  These are made to be use with the Glimmer Machine. The Glimmer Machine allows you to letterpress foil onto your projects.  For this blue card. I used the Framed Details hot glimmer plate. It has this sweeping branch leaves plate as well as a double rectangle frame (that I will show on other projects below), that I foiled in gold. Then using the same blue cardstock and gold foil, I used the Effortless Sentiment Glimmer "thank you" ...

Sending Sunshine

Lawn Fawn is showcasing this stamp set called Rain or Shine before and afters today which is a perfect stamp set to use with the Magic Picture Changer die. However, I just wanted to use the stamp set as is, to show versatility.  The rainbow image, is a rainbow with a sun behind it, and clouds at the bottom of the rainbow. I wanted to have a series of rainbows. The image was stamped several times and colored in. Then using scissors cut out. I left the sun on only one of the colored images and that is how I created the series of rainbows, to create a clean and graphic design. Head on over to the Lawn Fawn Blog , to see how all of the other designers used this stamp set!

You Are On My Mind

Image
Hello friends! Technique Tuesday is having a big release of new stamps and dies.  If you have been following along on the TT blog , then you might have seen a few images of the sets.  I am sharing a card using the Lilac stamp set.  This set is a mini set, I don't know the measurements off hand, but I'm pretty sure its a 3 x 4 inch stamp set.  There is the big lilac image, a few petals, and then some wonderful sentiments.   When creating this card, I had a friend in mind who could use a little bit of happy mail.  So, I spent a little extra time coloring it all in. The lilac image was stamped several times in a light grey ink, as well as the small petals. Then colored in using watercolors.  I used 4 colors, 2 different purples, a green and a yellow.  Once the panel was dry, it was adhered to a card base (4.25x5.5 in) using foam adhesive.  Then a white panel was die cut using a rectangle die.  The sentiment and petals were ...

Lawn Fawn: Flutter By

Image
Hello there! A long while back, Lawn Fawn released a stamp set called Flutter By.  Well, that stamp set finally has dies that coordinate with the stamps!  I am so very happy about this!!  I just love butterflies, they will never go out of style/trend for me, ever. If you head on over to the Lawn Fawn Blog , a few older stamp sets are getting coordinating dies, as well as a few new dies are being shown!!  So go check it out, because I hear there are a few giveaways as well. Some stampers, like to stamp & die cut their images first.  But I stamp my image, color it in, and then die cut last.  It is just easier for me that way, and I want to make sure, especially if I am using Copic markers, that I didn't get ink outside the lines. A little tip, use a low tac tape such as washi tape, to secure your die when you are diecutting a stamped image.  You don't want to spend all that time coloring in an image, for your die to move while you are in ...

With Mother's Day this coming weekend, and my children's school district honoring teachers for Teacher Appreciation Week, I have a need for a lot of tags, to put on gifts.  So, today I am going to share a few tags I made using the Bold Blooms set from Becky, and the Pretty Patterns 2 set from Melanie. Up first is a circular shaped tag using the Pretty Patterns 2 stamp set.  I created the gradient pattern by taking the single stamps, and repeatedly stamping them in different inks (of the same color f...
