Slow Down and Enjoy

Image
Hello friends! The April Lawn Fawn Inspiration week is happening, and today I have a cute little project to share.  Have you seen the Slow Down and Enjoy Stamp set & add on dies?  I created a bookmark with them.  I love how the stamp set shows the front and back side of the animals lol. I started by stamping the elephant onto white card stock and coloring it in using copic markers.  Then using a coordinating die, I cut out the book mark.  I like to stamp, color then die cut, so I get perfect placement. Using a low tack tape or washi tape to hold down the die helps immensely.  I then cut out the book mark again using green card stock, adhered them together and tied some LF twine through the holes. Head on over to the Lawn Fawn Blog for some really fantastic projects using these stamps/dies.

Lawn Fawn: Perfectly Plaid

Image
Hello there! Okay...I love plaid, like seriously love it!  So when I first saw this line of pattern paper, I thought I died and went to crafty heaven.  The print, the colors...everything about it, makes me ridiculously happy. Today I am sharing a scrapbook page that I created for the Lawn Fawn booth for Winter CHA 2016.  For more inspiration using this line of papers head on over to the Lawn Fawn blog .  You can also win this line by leaving a comment on the LF blog. These two beautiful souls are my children.  They are my heart.  So its so perfect that I used the Stitched Heart Die cuts, to create this page.

You Make My Heart Happy

So, my daughter is off at college.  She is attending Florida State University, around 3 1/2 hours from home.  I just moved her in on Sunday (6 days ago), and I already miss her.  I wish I could just give her a hug, buy her a brownie and Starbucks, tell her how much I love her & how proud I am of her, but I cannot.  FaceTime, Skype, texting, phone calls help me get through each day, but it doesn't compare to seeing her face to face. I am sending her this card, with a little note of encouragement.  I hope it makes her smile. Card Style Mystery Blog Hop

Image
Welcome to the Card Style Mystery Blog Hop (do you have a copy? no? click here to get your own) It is a super sweet issue :) Do you know your card style? There is a short quiz at the beginning of this issue, that will help answer that question.  Not only that, but the issue is separated into four sections, Fun & Cute, Clean & Graphic, Classy & Elegant, and Shabby Chic & Vintage.  How fun is that?  Flipping through the pages you can really see each style is so distinctive.   My go to card style, is Classy and Elegant.  I love ribbon, but my most favorite kind to use is satin.  Putting satin ribbon on a card with a few pearls, for me, is perfection.  Adding an embellishment like ribbon to a card, helps me achieve a nice balance.  A great classy & elegant card is very well balanced, and will flow.  Meaning, your eye will automatically know where to look next.  On an unbalanced card, your eyes kind of go all over ...
