2S4U sketch #58

Image
Do you ever just get into a creative funk, and nothing you make quite looks right? I was in one of those.  It could be that I am missing my husband, or that the 100+ heat we are having is draining me.  However, I decided to play along with this weeks sketch #58 by the lovely Kazan over at 2sketches4you .  Using a sketch can really get your mojo going, I highly suggest using them.  Plus over at 2s4u, they normally have a wonderful sponsor with great prizes.  Go check it out! I never ever, ever, have enough birthday cards.  So, if I have the chance I will always make extra to have in my stash.  I used some newer things on this card, the July release from Mint Motif called Cake Shoppe, some Togetherness pattern paper from Cosmo Cricket & the Spellbinders Labels 14, and those cute clothes pins from Hero Arts.  Using new things always helps my creativity.  After I stamped the image, I colored it in using Copic markers (R14, R24, R29, &35, ...

2sketches meets Creative Cuts

Image
There is a fun new sketch up over on 2sketches4you (and sponsor).  I hope you get a chance to play along this week.  Make sure to check in over there in the next week or so, I think they will be having a DT call.  My 6 months has gone by so fast, it really is an amazing group to work with.  I created a few treat containers this week, using the sponsors product, Creative Cuts.  I have to say, these were very easy to assemble, and user friendly.  The stickers I applied onto the containers are from Basic Grey (Eerie).  The hat pins are Making Memories, and the ribbon is PTI. Laura's skech #30: Happy Holidays

Image
There is a new sketch posted over at 2sketches4you, you must go check it out, I think its pretty fabulous myself.  I flipped the sketch to fit my stamps.  This weeks sponsor, is Purple Onion Stamps.  I really enjoyed the stamps I got to play with, the typography on this stamp (below) is really cool, its called Happy Holidays Noteblock ,  I can see myself using this a ton come around Christmas time.  I just went through their stamps and I have a list so long...one of my favorites is called French Vintage Postmark Set. ..I seriously need it.  I hope you decide to play along, I can't wait to see what you make. Laura's Sketch #29: Special Friend Blend

Image
A new sketch is up over at 2sketches4you , this weeks sponsor is from Score-it.  I wanted to do something a little different with my American Crafts designer paper, so I took out my Mini Score-it and made score lines every 1/4 inch, vertically and horizontally on my paper, this made a really cool grid pattern.  On my ivory card stock, I also used my mini Score-it to score lines above and below my scalloped border.  Little details like scoring make a card look polished.  The image is from Unity Stamp Co & the sentiment is from Papertrey ink. "special friend blend" My image was colored in using Copic markers, if you head on over to the Flourishes Newsletter there is a tutorial up on coloring with these markers.

Ribbon & a sketch

Image
Today over on the Flourishes Newsletter Stacy is showing us tricks and tips on how to use ribbon on your card.  I just folded over my satin ribbon and then stapled it, I was being lazy and didn't want to sew.  There are so many cool ways to use ribbon on your card other than tying a bow.  I do like the way the ribbon treatment on this card turned out, I will have to remember this more often.   I used Kazan's sketch #24 , from 2sketches4you (love love love it!!), her and Laura are sketch masters, they are my favorite sketches on the web, so go check them out! I used the new Sweet Violets stamp set from Flourishes , I have never seen a reddish/orangish violet, but I wanted the flowers to match the paper, and unless your the flower police, I think it looks pretty good lol.  I used a Martha Stewart border punch, and then took a Copic marker and put the tip into each hole.  The hat pins were clear and a pearl color originally, but I wanted them to match also so I took the same Co...

Just a cute little card to show today.  I used Kazan's sketch #20 from 2sketches4you their sketches and DT are just amazing and so creative.  Its a square card (probably my favorite kind of card) the base is Kraft layered with some Basic Grey Urban Prairie paper, the white card stock cut out using a Labels 1 die from Spellbinders.  That little flourish in the corner is Grunge Board from Tim Holtz, that I distressed using his distress inks.  The image and sentiment are both from Unity Stamp Co, I colored in the bowl using Copic Markers.  Oh, on a side note, I'm going to the Copic Certification Class hosted by Flourishes this coming Monday!  Is anyone else going?  Marianne from Copic is teaching the class, she is the illustrator/designer for Our Craft Lounge stamps, so I'm most excited to meet her along with some pretty amazing stampers.  Have a wonderful day!!  Jess is gone, so that leaves me taking both kids to baseball/softball practice.  It wouldn't be so bad if I di...

Another xmas card done lol

Image
So I got two challenges done in one card (yipee).  The sketch is from  2sketchesforyou , its Laura's sketch #14 and then over on SCS the challenge is to use only to use snowflakes, for stamping, designer paper...everything, but the sentiment could only be one word, oh and glitter has to be somewhere too.  My paper is from MME Christmas pack, it has the pretties paper, its thick and a lot of the pages if not all of them have glitter on them.  I'm loving it!  I apologize that this post is short, I just have company coming for the weekend, and I have a million things to be doing right now!  Oh the sentiment is from Flourishes Holiday Greetings stamp set.
