TE Easter Release!

Image
Hello friends! I get to share such a fun release with you all today, from the Taylored Expressions Easter Release . I think there is a little something for everyone. Make sure you head on over to the website today to see whats new! For this first card, I wanted to use colors I typically don't use together but are bright, colorful and scream spring. The cardstock was cut and scored to 4.25 x 5.5 inches. To begin the Pennant Parade stamp was stamped directly on top of the card base. Using the clear stamps from the Pennant Parade East Set, the pennants were stamped multiple times with different ink colors. They were cut out and set aside. The sentiment was stamped in black ink, and the the little elements around the banner were stamped as well before the pennants were adhered to the card using foam adhesive.  I love it when a cared turns out exactly how you picture it in your mind. This is such a beautiful stamp, I cannot wait to create more cards with it! To start the card b...

Hello friends! Boy is it freezing here in Florida! I am currently dreaming of warmer weather but since  it is winter, I have brand new products from Lawn Fawn to share with you.  There is a new die set called Candy Hearts, and they are stitches along the edge and then have cute sayings on the inside and then one of the dies is a solid heart. I started by applying ink onto white cardstock until I was happy with the color. Once the ink dried, using the heart dies, I die cut the card stock and placed the diecuts aside. Using the portrait heart backdrop die, I diecut a piece of vellum. I then used the vellum as a stencil, and applied the same ink to the card front. The stencil was slightly moved, in between applying inks, to get both colors to show up. Head on over to the Lawn Fawn blog, to see all of the wonderful projects using this new product.

A Good Friend

Image
Hello friends! I hope all of my American readers had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday! We had a full house of family and friends, too much food, and a lot of laughs. It was perfect.  I took a few weeks off from making anything crafty, I just needed a little quiet time, to reset, relax and rest. Today, I am sharing a card using a new stamp set from Technique Tuesday called Beau & Beatrice Beaver Stamp set. It has two different beaver images, wood stumps, a snail, flower and fun sentiments.  There is also a coordinating die set as well. For this card, I stamped all of the images in black ink, and then colored them in with copic markers. Instead of using the dies to cut out the images, I decided to fussy cut the images with scissors for a closer cut to the image line. I used a few different green oxide inks on the card front, taking my time to blend them together, then spritzed water on top. Once the water was dry, the sentiment was stamped in black ink, and ...

Hello there! Sometimes you just need a clean card with lots of white space, you know?  Do not get me wrong, I love a good technique as much as anyone else, but you don't need all of those things to make a pretty card. Simple, basic stamping will always produce a happy card that you can mail to a friend. For this card, I stamped the sentiment and then built the images around it. The leaves were easy to place because I could stamp them off the tail of the "e" letter. Then I chose the pumpkin and fruit to go above the sentiment because they were flat on the bottom, and could fit between the G and the D. The images were colored in with copic markers, then to embellish a bow was tied using pretty orange ribbon. This stamp is called Happy Thanksgiving , and you can see the full reveal over on the Technique Tuesday blog !

Fall is Coming!

Hello friends.  A few projects are on the blog today. Both are showcasing new products from the latest Lawn Fawn release, and very much so fall inspired. First up, is a clean and graphic card using the Caramel Apple stamp and die set.  The apples were stamped in black ink onto white cardstock, colored in with copic markers and then cut out with the coordinating dies. The card base is 4.25 x 5.5 inches using the white woodgrain cardstock from Lawn Fawn.  The sentiment was double stamped since the cardstock is textured, and the apples were adhered using foam adhesive.  I die cut a piece of pattern paper from the Knit Picky Fall collection using the tote bag die. Then using the Mini Box Bat add-on die set, die cut purple glittered cardstock and adhered it to the bag as a fun halloween goody bag. Embellished with twine. The bag was then filled with candy corn and a ghost peep. That peep is giving me so much life lol For more product information, head ...

Hello friends! It is summer!! Yay!! Summer and Christmas are my favorite seasons. I know Christmas is not a season, but winter is so hard on my body, the only way I enjoy it is to fully embrace the holiday seaons. Anyhow, back to summer! Do any of you have any fun summer travel plans? Because of my husbands job, we have lived away from family (california) for almost 20 years. Typing that number out, made me realize how long I have been away. Most of those 19 years we have lived in the south east of the US. As much as I miss California, the south suits me, and most likely what my children consider home.  When your children get older, its very hard to coordinate their schedules, along with my husbands.  But miraculously we all will get to go to California together, it has been a long time since that has happened. Usually it is just the kids and myself.  I am in need of relaxing, down time to just chill, especially since we have a busy year ahead of us. I plan on wine ...

Merry Christmas

Hello friends! One of my favorite ways to challenge myself in card making, is when I use a mini set.  Mini stamp sets are usually 2 x 3 inches, have a main image, a sentiment or two, and maybe smaller images.  It stretches creativity as well as simplifying products used.  A lot of times stampers feel overwhelmed by the amount of choices when starting a card, but I have found less is more a lot of time. First I stamped the otter onto the card front as a mark to where my focal point was going to be.  Using green ink and a blender tool, I applied ink onto the card.  When ink blending, pick up ink onto the blender, then tap the blender onto scratch paper, if there is going to be an ink ring on the blender, this is when the sharpness of the ring will come off.  I then start blending in light circles onto the card, I repeat this over and over until satisfied with the layer and darkness of the ink.  The sentiments were stamped in black ink, the he...

Happy Sunday folks.  I hope you are bundled up and keeping warm today.  I know down here in Florida the temperatures have dropped a little...more like a lot, but it is a nice excuse to go to Starbucks lol. Anyhow, today I am showing you a fun card, clean just the way I like it, with a little pop of color.  I have a few friends who don't live anywhere near me, but I wish I could give them a big ole hug...that is where the inspiration came from when I was making this card. The image and sentiments are both from Avocado Arts .  The cute little owl is a sneak from the February set called, Wishes and Kind Thoughts.  It is hard to see in this picture, but I added Glossy Accents to the glasses (too stinking cute).  Glossy Accents is a cool liquid adhesive, that when used alone, when it dries it can resemble glass...cool stuff.   The entire team is posting today (there are some new faces), so be sure to check them out too! Card Set using Lawn Fawn

Image
I love making card sets, there is something about creating something for someone that just makes me happy.  Another thing that makes me very happy, is using my Lawn Fawn stamp sets.  Those smily faces kill me (in a good way).  Smily faces on a tissue box and bandaids (from On the Mend )?  Awesome!  Plus I love how the florals from the Blissful Botanicals set, can be colored any way. I believe you can make a simple card set outstanding, if you use really nice paper.  I chose to use a really nice pressed water color/textured paper for this card set.  Since it is a thicker paper, and I used Copic markers, I needed to work quickly to blend the ink.  I don't recommend using this kind of paper all the time to use copics on, since it will use a lot of ink.  But, for someone special, it is perfect.   materials used: textured paper Copic markers corner rounder Lawn Fawn stamps: On the Mend & Blissful Botanicals twine memento ink s...
