Thankful

Hello! Technique Tuesday is about to release a stamp set called Luscious Grapes . Its a smaller stamp set that includes a pretty grape image, and then a few bold sentiments.  Today, I am using that set.  First i started by stamping the grapes with a permanent black ink onto watercolor paper. Using watercolor, the image was colored in. I try and let each color family dry before moving on to the next so the colors don't muddle. The thankful sentiment was also stamped in black ink. The panel was diecut with a square die, and then adhered to the card front using foam adhesive. This is such a fun fall image or perfect for anyone who loves wine! Head on over to the Technique Tuesday blog to see the full reveal of this set!

Merry Christmas

Hello friends! One of my favorite ways to challenge myself in card making, is when I use a mini set.  Mini stamp sets are usually 2 x 3 inches, have a main image, a sentiment or two, and maybe smaller images.  It stretches creativity as well as simplifying products used.  A lot of times stampers feel overwhelmed by the amount of choices when starting a card, but I have found less is more a lot of time. First I stamped the otter onto the card front as a mark to where my focal point was going to be.  Using green ink and a blender tool, I applied ink onto the card.  When ink blending, pick up ink onto the blender, then tap the blender onto scratch paper, if there is going to be an ink ring on the blender, this is when the sharpness of the ring will come off.  I then start blending in light circles onto the card, I repeat this over and over until satisfied with the layer and darkness of the ink.  The sentiments were stamped in black ink, the he...

Merry Christmas

Hello friends! How is is mid October already?! We are on the cusp of fall and winter holidays, which means starting to create Christmas cards. Today I am sharing a holiday card using the Stitched Ornament dies from Lawn Fawn .  I started by creating a base of white card stock at 4.25 x 5.5 inches.  I then layered it with cilantro card stock, that had been die cut with foam adhesive. The chili pepper was die cut with a rectangle first, and then I die cut the stitched ornament, because i wanted the outside stitch of the ornament to show up.  Next the ornament were die cut again with white card stock, and then stamped using different "merry christmas" sentiments in green and red ink.  These two layers were adhered to the card using foam adhesive as well.  To finish the card, "love" was stamped in black, and black single cord twine was added to embellish. Head on over to the Lawn Fawn blog to see the rest of the project using this set!

Sending Hedgehugs Gift Bag

It's so strange the way a family dynamic can change, when one of your children go away to college.  We went from a family of four, to a family of 3.  Plus with Jess being a pilot in the Navy, sometimes it's just a family of two, me and Jacob. We had a really good weekend.  On Friday, we went & played laser tag, then went to this place that serves hot dogs outside of a bar.  I know that sounds crazy, but these hotdogs are super good.  All beef, cheese, relish, onions and a little bit of mustard & catchup.  Delicious! Then yesterday, we took a drive to St. Augustine, went to a few galleries, a few antique shops, a used bookstore, a great stationery & stamp store...what else?  Oh we got fresh fudge & ice cream from this candy shop, and we had Starbucks.  It was really hot & sticky but nice.  The piece de resistance for my son, was that we got him a Key Blade (like from Kingdom Hearts). So now it is Sunday, and I typicall...

I absolutely love this incentive stamp.  Although there are only two stamps in this set, I could use them for so many cards!  This set of flowers just really makes me happy.  I stamped the flowers in the Sweet Corn ink, and then added yellow stickles to the center.  I don't know if you can see it well or not, but the card base is this really deep shade of purple that I'm totally digging (its in the StampTV kit yay!). American Made

Image
Today, I get to show a few projects using the new stamp set called American Made by Becky Oehlers for GinaK Designs .  In honor of my children going back to school today (11th & 6th grades), I made a card and tag ensemble, perfect for any teacher.   I don't want to get side tracked on school, but, I am kind of freaking my beans that my youngest just started Jr. High today.  Also, that my oldest is in the 11th grade.  When and how did I become the parent of "old" kids?  I remember when I was the mom with the young kids...I digress... Back to the projects lol. Make sure you take a hop to all of these ladies blogs, to see what they created with this set!!  To see the American Made stamp set in full, check out the Clear Set here , and the Red Rubber Set here . Inspired Happiness

I have been feeling really inspired to create lately, I think its because I only buy what I love now & not stuff that is on sale or what seems to be a trend.  Don't get me wrong I love new stuff, I just know more about what I use and what I don't use and I kind of have stopped hoarding and I'm using up my stuff. (amazing I know lol) So this card I just love, I don't think I can ever mail it out.  Do any of you do that?  This card is the whole enchilada.  I stamped, sewed, used chipboard, covered the chipboard, slapped on some buttons, twine & lace, used some yummy Noteworthy paper & the result is one paperlicious card >" "Happiness" Noteworthy paper, Unity August kit of the month stamps, retired SU card stock, button, chipboard, lace, twine Before I made the card I made this chipboard tag, I'm thinking I will turn it into a magnet or put in on my bookshelf in my room or use it as a bookmark.  Who knows what I will do with it?  I like it...
