Santa ATC's

Image
These ATC's are on their way to Colorado, to be soon swapped out.  I joined a winter themed ATC swap on SCS .  ATC stands for, artist trading card.  They are sized 2 1/2 inches by 3 1/2 inches.  I stamped the Santa image, and put some Diamond Glaze on his glasses, then stamped the sentiment in the corner. Did all of you have a nice Thanksgiving?  We had a really nice day, hubby got to take a few days of leave so it was fun staying up late and sleeping in.  The kids helped me make and prepare a lot of the food we ate, and my daughter made cookies all by herself.  Then she brought them to neighbors as a good deed. Today its a little chilly, but its so beautiful outside.  I have lots of errands to do today, so I hope you have a great Monday!!

Happy Thanksgiving

H a p p y  T h a n k s g i v i n g I hope all of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving.  I am so thankful for big and small blessings in my life.  For those of my friends or family who may be feeling down or depressed, give thanks to unknown blessings on their way.   My family is spending the day enjoying each other, food, football, Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade, board games, apple pie, pumpkin cheesecake, lots of naps and maybe some craft time for me. "For flowers that bloom about our feet; For tender grass, so fresh, so sweet; For song of bird, and hum of bee; For all things fair we hear or see, Father in heaven, we thank Thee!" -Ralph Waldo Emerson

You insprire me

Image
Here is a pretty that I made a while ago, well to be honest its a reject for my November Dirty Dozen gallery lol.  I still love it, it just didn't make the cut.  Today I am making Pumpkin Cheescake, chopping lots of vegetables and I might make some brownies too, if I feel really ambitious I may even make the stuffing tonight.  Can you believe Thanksgiving is tomorrow!?!  Wow has this year just flown by, it just seems like yesterday we moved to Orange Park from San Diego, but it has been 11 months.  Anyhow, I hope you all get to have some time to enjoy with your family in the next few days.  I have so much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. No stamping Christmas Card

Image
Can you believe Thanksgiving is just a few days away!!  It really is one of my favorite holidays (2nd to Christmas).  Thanksgiving is probably the last holiday that hasn't been commercialized with buying stuff.  It has remained the same...turkey dinner.  We spend the day waking up the the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade, lots of appetizers, watching nostalgic movies, Turkey dinner and of course football.  Then after all the dishes are done and I have had a nap, its then crunch time to get those Christmas cards done! Today this little pretty, was a fun card to make and involved zero stamping.  I just looked at some things I might have been hoarding (wink wink).  I started off with a kraft card base, layered with a pretty floral Jenni Bowlin paper, then a Jenni Bowlin mini bingo card & I adhered those down.  Then, I wrapped some satin ribbon around the card front and tied a pretty bow.  To finish the card off I placed a Basic Grey reindeer woolie down over the ribbon.  This wa

Tag your it...Christmas tags

Image
Wow its Friday!  The countdown until Thanksgiving is going on in my house.  My menu is written, free range turkey order is place (getting fresh eggs and sausage too), all I need to do is get a few items at the grocery store and I'm all set to start cooking.  The day before I will probably make a pumpkin cheesecake and fudge, along with potato salad and sage sausage stuffing, then chop & prepare all the veggies and side dishes that I will cook on Thanksgiving.  Do you all cook on the same day, or spread it out? Anyhow on to my post lol, so Julie challenged us to make some tags for the Flourishes Friday Focus.  I like to use tags to stick on gift bags, wine bottles, or packages of desserts, it just makes the packaging look polished and well thought out, not to mention it just classes it up a bit. I started out with a 2 1/2 inch by 4 inch piece of cardstock, and I stamped the music background in a green ink and put a strip of designer paper towards the botoom.  Then I machine s

Vintage Christmas Card

Image
Here is a quick and simple vintage holiday card.  I crumpled up some Graphic 45 paper, the sewed it to an ivory card stock panel.  Before I adhered the panel I distress the edges with ink.  Sometimes I take the ink pad directly onto the paper, but this time I used a sponge, I have a little more control that way.  The sentiment was stamped in rich cocoa Memento ink.  When I first went to put the tag on, it didn't seem right.  Maybe because the paper is crumpled.  So I popped the tag up with foam tape.  The red twine is from Martha Stewart. I want to say a big thank you, to everyone who has wished me a congratulations.  The outpouring of support really has been overwhelming!!  Thank you, thank you, thank you!! "Merry Christmas"

Day 4 of sneaks, Lamp Post Greetings

Image
Are you ready for another set?  Today I'm sneaking a set called Lamp post Greetings.  It has the lamp post, and then different flags to attach to it plus sentiments.  Its very versatile, and after I colored this image, I fell in love with this set.  I think using the American flag is fitting since yesterday was Veteran's Day.  The image was colored in using Copic markers, cut an embossed with a Spellbinders die and then mounted on the card.  Sometimes with an image like this one, you can go clean and simple because the coloring does all the talking for you.  For your chance to win this set, head on over to the Flourishes Newsletter.  They are having a one day only blog candy and giving away this set!! Day 3 of sneaks, Christmas Borders

Image
Today, I'm showing you a sneak of the Christmas Borders set from Flourishes.  I plan on using this bag around the holidays, so I didn't want to put too much time and effort into it knowing it could get thrown away. I took a normal kraft colored bag, and re-decorated it.  I can see this set being used in so many fun ways, making your own stationery, cards, decorating bags or what about making your own wrapping paper, now that would be cool!!  For your chance to win this set, head on over to the Flourishes Newsletter , they are having a one day only blog candy.   "Christmas Border holiday bag" Pay a visit to the rest of the designers to see what they did with this set Leslie Miller Christine Okken Julie Koerber Laura Fredrickson Stacy Morgan Cindy Lawrence Flourishes Newsletter

Day 2 of Nov sneaks, Fancy Labels

Image
Day 2 of Sneaks Today some of the Flourishes design team along with the blog team are showcasing projects using the new set called Fancy Labels created by Lauren Pope.  You will find some of the elements in this set will coordinate with some of your favorite Spellbinder dies.  For my project, I made some banana nut bread mini loaves, packaged them into glassine bags, added some pretty trim and ribbon along with a tag using images and sentiments from the Fancy Labels set.  I'm pretty sure the die I used to cut an emboss my image is the Labels 3 die.  If you don't have this particular die, thats okay, this image would be very easy to cut out, using scissors. For your chance to win this stamp set, head on over to the Flourishes Newsletter , they are having a one day only blog candy. Letters to Santa

Image
Here is a fun project you can do with your children.  I took the Santa stamp set from Flourishes (now available at Paper Maniac ), stamped it onto kraft card stock.  Then I colored in the holly leaves and berries, stamped "ho, ho, ho" at the bottom, and scored the card stock 1/4 inch from the edge.  To finish off the front, I added lace at the bottom and tied ribbon at the top corner. For the back, just take a pen and ruler to make lines, and have your child right their letter to Santa.

Warm winter wishes, swap cards

Image
I'm in a PTI swap with some fun ladies, they are due this coming up Friday, so I finally got them finished up.  My daughter helped me with them, as I have lots of looming deadlines, not to mention my allergies are in full effect, it was nice to have her help.  I'm in a Christmas kind of mood.  Maybe because its November?  Holy moly its November lol, this year really has flown by!!  Well I hope you are enjoying your weekend.  We went to dinner as a family last night at a really good seafood restaurant, then today and tomorrow we are going to go see the Blue Angels (they are in town) and also we are going to see A Christmas Carol movie.  Monday is my son's 9th birthday, so this is a fun packed weekend!! Quick and easy card set

Image
I have a few small baskets in my house that I put all the cards I make into.  Once they start to get full, I typically send them to some of my favorite charities, or I package them up and send them to friends and family for little gift card sets.  The card/s I'm showing today, is a card set I made specifically for a charity.  I love making cards, it truly makes me happy, so it really warms my heart that these few cards can make a difference.  The stamps are from Papertrey Ink, and the card stock is from the Early Bird by Cosmo Cricket.  On a few of the cards I sewed on them, and you will notice there are no embellishments.  I wanted them to be a one stamp kind of card, so no bulk here. "thank you card set"

Did all of you have a fun Halloween?  This year we took the kids to Orlando and went to Disney Quest and Medieval times.  Talk about one fun day, I have not belly laughed like that in a while.  Anyhow, here is a fun card I made today, I decided to play along with the MFT all white challenge.  The card base is embossed using a Spellbinders Impressabilities floral and stone die.  The image is stamped in Memento ink, and colored in using Copic markers, and then I cut and embossed the image with a labels 8 Spellbinders die.  I added some white crocheted ribbon, satin ribbon & a glittered heart to add a little more texture.  I hope you all have a wonderful Tuesday, I'm off to do errands and my son has an award ceremony. tea-rific friend

Clean and simple holiday tags

Image
Dude!  Its November 1st!?!  What the heck is right, especially since it was in the mid 80's here today, I think I may be wearing flip flops at Christmas, if so, I am so making a scrapbook page on that!  Anyhow, well since the holidays are fast approaching, its time for quick and simple projects.  Today I'm showing a few cute tags that I made.  For those of you who are on the fence about wether or not you want some Spellbinder dies, let me tell you, they are the bomb diggity for mass production.  These dies will cut your project time in half, not to mention make it look professional.  You see, these dies cut and emboss...I know so cool.  Let me say, I am no way affiliated with Spellbinders, I just love their products.  Anyhow, I cut an embossed these labels, stamped a cute snowman image and sentiment onto the card stock.  Then for the cherry on top, I added a pretty red satin ribbon bow.  This my friends is one clean and simple project.
