Lawn Fawn & Helmar

Image
This week Lawn Fawn is partnering with Helmar.  Both design teams will be showing projects on the company blogs.  So head on over to the Lawn Fawn blog , for more inspiration.   For my card, I used Swimsuit Season , along with Sophie's Senitments stamp sets to make this fun summer "Thinking of You" card.  Then to add dimension, I used Helmar liquid scrap dots.  The only way to describe it, is that it comes in a tube, then you spread it over the item you want to add dimension to, then after 10 minutes, the gel hardens a bit and pops up your item.  Pretty cool if you ask me. Quick and easy Thank You card

Image
With only 7 days left of the school year, I need to get cracking on "thank you" notes for my son to give to his teachers.   I wanted to use some fun images, so I went to my Lawn Fawn stamps.  I grabbed the Critters in the Sea stamp set and Cruising Through Life .  I paper pieced the whale and waves, then stamped the "thank you" sentiment a few times.  These are simple enough, that I can make quite a few of these, and use up a bunch of scrap paper. We are supposed to have rainy weather off and on this weekend, so I plan on cleaning...super glamorous I know.  I don't like deep cleaning, but it has to be done. This weekend I had grand plans on cleaning my crafting mess, but I wasn't too successful.  As I started to clean, I noticed I had far too many large scraps.  So, I began to make tags, little cards, and die cuts to use at a later date.   Here is a tag that I made using the Sunshine and Smiles stamp set from Avocado Arts .  Everything was already cut (scraps), so all I needed to do was round the bottom corners of the yellow cardstock, stamp the flower/stem, and sentiment, then add the ribbon. Oh, and color in the flower.  This was a project that was simple to make, now I have a cute tag ready to put on a package or wrapped gift. Make sure to visit the Avocado Arts blog this week, they might have a few surprises in for you!!  Also, each day in May one of the Avocado Arts designers will be giving you daily inspiration using the Sunshine and Smiles stamp set. Lawn Fawn: Cruising Through Life

Image
When I first opened this stamp set (Cruising Through Life), I had such a hard time deciding on what images to use.  As I kept staring at it, the pinwheels kept grabbing my attention.  I paper pieced the pinwheels, then colored in the center folded parts with a Copic marker (r24).  After I stamped the sticks, I adhered the pinwheels to the card using foam tape.  I created the border at the bottom of the card, by cutting/embossing a Grand Labels One die template, then trimming off one side.  There are so many fun elements in this set, I can even see myself using this stamp set on scrap book pages...so much fun & versatile! Head on over to the Lawn Fawn blog for a chance to win this stamp set. Check out what the rest of the designers did with Cruising Through Life too. Lawn Fawn: Admit One

Image
The new Lawn Fawn set Admit One will be available in just a few short days.  So I made a cute little ensemble showing off a few of the images and sentiments.  School is almost over here, just a few more weeks.  I may just put a few surprise gifts in the bag for my son or daughter, congratulating them on a well done school year. I used textured card stock from Bazzill.  I even colored in the balloons with Copic markers on the white card stock, and it did okay. I wouldn't do this everytime, but it gives the balloons and cotton candy a cool effect.   My internet is super sketchy right now, so my blog post is going to have to be cut short today...sorry! Make sure you visit the rest of the designers and the Lawn Fawn blog to see what they made with the Admit One set.   Chan Vuong      Julie Campbell        Lea Lawson      Lynnette Kauffman   Nichol Magouirk   Teri Anderson   Tiffany Johnson Materials Used: Admit One stamp set Bazzill card stock 3L Adhesive foam squares Spel

Cute & Easy treat box

Image
Hello folks! I am showing a little Chinese treat box that I decorated today.  You could put so many different things in this box, from a small gift, to home-made cookies or candy.  It cost under $1 to buy, and I just added some ribbon, stamped some super cute images from the Sunshine & Smiles stamp set from Avocado arts, cut/embossed the image with a Spellbinders die template, and this baby was good to go. I used some Copic markers to color in the images, and drew little swirly lines with a black pen from the flowers. This week, the Avocado Arts design team will have daily inspiration for you to check out using this fun stamp set.  Make sure to visit the rest of these designers this week.  If you are new to Avocado Arts, head on over here , to check it all out. Card set using Say Cheese from Lawn Fawn

Hello there! Do you have any exciting plans for the weekend?  I think I may go visit with a girlfriend one day, and the rest of this weekend I plan on trying to relax and get a little creative time in.  It is supposed to rain all weekend, so most likely I will just want to lounge around and read if I'm being completely honest lol. A few months ago, I posted a few of our OP-Love photo shoot pictures on my blog.  Well the amazing photographer who took those pictures, is celebrating another year in business, so I made this card set for her to give away, for her anniversary celebration.  I also am giving away a custom 10 piece notecard set. I do not mass produce very often, only for special occasions like this. Since it is nice and hot, and I do live in Florida, I wanted warm relaxing colors to work with.  When I think of Florida, for some reason I think of yellow and ocean blue, maybe because they are calming?   Anyhow, I thought since these cards were for a photographer to give awa

To all of the Mothers out there, I hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day. With my hubby still deployed, Mother's Days are a little different, but the kids and I still had a wonderful day and I felt so loved.  We decided to get out of town for a few days, eat good food and try to relax.   Today, I have a cute little card to show you using the Sunshine & Smiles stamp set from Avocado Arts.  This little flower makes me so happy.  I was feeling kind of blue before I started making this card, but through the process of creativity, I felt renewed once I was done.  Does that ever happen with you?  How being creative (in any way) can change your mind set.  There are far too many critics out there ready to bring you down, but as long as I am happy with the end result, that is all that matters.  Right? Side tracked...back to the card :) The flowers were colored in with Copic markers (R24, R29, R45, R43, R35, YG02) and I popped the left flower up with foam tape.  There seemed to be

Bundle of Joy using Lawn Fawn

Image
Is anyone else making last minute Mother's Day cards? I have a few I still need to finish up.  They are mostly for a few of my close friends that live here.  It is far too late to put one in the mail and make it on time.  (from FL to CA that is) A while back, I bought this really pretty paper From Teresa Collins (Posh) and the lady silhouettes scream feminine to me.  So I pulled it out to make a card for one of my best friends.  She just had her first child, and will be celebrating her first Mother's Day.  For the inside, I made a little pocket for a Gift Card. The sentiments are from the Plus One set from Lawn Fawn.  I actually combined three of the sentiments to customize this card. (congrats, on your, & bundle of joy)   **Don't forget!!!  Lawn Fawn is donating 20% of sales through the 7th of May towards Y-ME.  For more information, check out the Lawn Fawn blog .  Kelly Marie also did a fabulous video explaining everything!*** Do you have any special plans for M

Avocado Arts Thinking of You card

Have you seen the first set available from Avocado Arts?  Check it out here .   It is called Sunshine and Smiles. Super cute right? For the entire month of May, the Avocado Arts Design Team, also called the Pit Crew will be giving you daily doses of inspiration using this stamp set!   To stay up to date with all of the Avocado Arts happenings, be sure to follow them on their blog found here (they are also on Facebook and Twitter. For my card, I started out using a textured card stock, almost like water color paper.  I cut/scored the card, then rounded the left bottom corners. I started out my stamping the swirly little buzzy thing, then stamped the bee's around it.  It gives the card some movement.  Then I  stamped the grass, which is a solid image stamp.  Then cut it out, and popped it up on the card using foam tape.  The boots, are a lined image stamp.  Meaning you can paper piece the image or color it in with your favorite coloring medium.  I used Copic markers to color in t
