My Stud Muffin

Image
Here is a fun card, perfect for the stud muffin in your life (ha ha ha), that sentiment and image combined gives me serious giggles.  I'm thinking, I might leave it in my husbands car one day, so he will find it on his way to work.  Something cute like that, would make is day a little better. For this card I used a few different Lawn Fawn stamp sets, Love n' Breakfast and Bannerific .  I really like the layout of this card, it would be really easy to change out the image and sentiment. My hero

Image
Just a quick little post to say hello, and hope you all are having a wonderful holiday season with your families.  We enjoyed a nice Christmas yesterday.  It consisted of, sleeping in, eating, going to the movies and eating some more.  It was perfect. While we were together as a family, there are many military members who were away from theirs.  So, I thank them for their service.  If you have a minute during this festive time of year, say a little prayer for those deployed.  Being away from the ones you love the most at Christmastime, is unbearably sad. Here is a little card dedicated to all of the heroes out there. Have a great day!! materials used: kraft cardstock My Minds Eye pattern paper foam tape red buttons twine mini clothes pin

CPS 237 using Clear Snap & Lawn Fawn

Image
This week Clear Snap is sponsoring the sketch over at Card Positioning Systems .  I used the Smooch Pearlized ink to color in the house (lettuce, mocha, plum berry, sweet melon & banana custard) , and tree.  I have to admit, I was a little scared at first to use these inks.  They come in super cute bottles that look like nail polish, then once opened, the coloring brush is kind of like a fine point brush.  Once I figured them out (which wasn't hard) , I had a lot of fun coloring in the house.  The stamps are from a new stamp set from Lawn Fawn called, Happy Haunting .   Materials Used: Lawn Fawn Happy Haunting Clear Snap Smooch Pearlized ink foam tape MME pattern paper Clear Snap Licorice Color Box ink Black satin ribbon Bazzill card stock

Avocado Arts: Happy Halloween

Image
Can you believe that it's September 1st?  Here in Florida we are still having 90 degree+ weather, so somewhere along the line, summer zipped on by.  I guess it's time for me to start thinking fall/holidays.  Kind of scary how fast time flies. Anyhow, today the Avocado Arts design team is showcasing the September, Thankful for You stamp set.  It has images/sentiments for both Halloween and Fall (kind of love that), so you will have multi uses for this set.  I created, a card base using the Labels Twenty-Three from Spellbinders, layered it with some My Minds Eye pattern paper, then die cut more MME pattern paper using the Star Circles die set.  I paper pieced the pumpkin onto pattern paper, then colored it in using Copic, and did the same thing with the stem.  To give the card some dimension, I popped up each layer using foam tape.  To finish off the card, I added some natural twine at the top of the card. Quick and easy Thank You card

Image
With only 7 days left of the school year, I need to get cracking on "thank you" notes for my son to give to his teachers.   I wanted to use some fun images, so I went to my Lawn Fawn stamps.  I grabbed the Critters in the Sea stamp set and Cruising Through Life .  I paper pieced the whale and waves, then stamped the "thank you" sentiment a few times.  These are simple enough, that I can make quite a few of these, and use up a bunch of scrap paper. We are supposed to have rainy weather off and on this weekend, so I plan on cleaning...super glamorous I know.  I don't like deep cleaning, but it has to be done. Tags made out of scraps

Image
The days and weeks leading up to CHA (Craft & Hobby Association), I was really busy working on projects for different booths.  What this left me was a huge mess, and a ton of scraps.  If it is a nice card stock or a pattern paper, I try to find a use for it.  I had a small scrap of kraft paper left, and if you love kraft card stock like I do, there is no way you are getting rid of it.  Looking at the scrap paper, I could tell it was just big enough to make a few tags, but too small to make a card, so I went with the tags. The paper was 4 1/4 x 8 inches, so all I needed to do was trim the tags to a length that I liked.  I went with 2 1/4 in width by 4 1/4 long.  Now this next part was just pure luck.  As I was trying to figure out what stamps to use (because I new I would use the MME So Sophie pattern paper), I grabbed my Cake Shoppe Too stamps from Mint Motif (sold through iheartpapers ).  I took a look at the bottom layer of the largest cak...

My reason why

Image
How are the days just flying by? My children are keeping me very busy this summer. I am trying to find a nice balance with everything. I apologize for the lack of posts lately, I am working on CHA projects and other fun things. On this card, I used some fabulous Ali Edwards stamps by Technique Tuesday .  The are fun versatile, and have so much meaning behind them.  I was inspired by some pretty My Minds Eye paper that I picked up last month.  This card would be perfect for anyone.  If I were to send it to a man, I would probably change the bow into a knot & maybe remove the butterfly.  Butterflies seem a little feminine to me, and most of the men in my life (dad, hubby, son) are manly men.  To soften the card up, I rounded the corners on the bottom, then on the bottom corner of the pattern paper.  This is a longer/taller card, I believe the measurements are 3 3/4 x 6 inches, and I used bazzill kraft card stock.  Oh and the butterfly is from J...
