Happy New Year!! Did you all make it through the holidays?  I know I put on a few pounds for sure lol. Today I am showing another project using the January stamp set from Avocado Arts.  I decided to make a treat container, perfect for Valentine's Day.  I scored some scrap card stock, stamped my images onto them, then stapled it to a glassine bag filled with candy. Hello there! Here is a fun take on a Holiday card.  I think it would be perfect to give to a spouse, or a friend who just loves coffee, or tea.  I used the December & January stamp sets from Avocado Arts to create my card. Winter Wishes

Image
So far, my Christmas cards have been pretty traditional in color...red & green, and I'm perfectly okay with that.  Today, is no exception, I tried to add in some blue, it just was not working.  The stamps and sentiment are from Avocado Arts, I paper pieced the cute little Christmas trees, stamped the star at the top, then went over it with red stickles, just to sparkle it up a bit.  Lucky me, I have some great glittery May Arts ribbon, that matched perfect.  The sentiment and card didn't look right just stamped once, so I stamped it three times, which helped balance out the card a little bit better. How are you doing on your Christmas cards?  I have so many more to do! Check out these lovely ladies, to see what they made as well! Warm Winter Wishes

Image
Wow!   November 30th. I'm trying to wrap my head around, that it truly is almost December.  I'm not ready for December yet lol.  Well, at least I have one more Christmas card finished right? I'm not a huge washi tape lover, however, I am in love with this particular role (it came in a Studio Calico kit...unsure of the origin/brand).  Red. which is one of my favorite colors with, snowflakes...sold! So, I paired this fun washi tape, with the December stamp set from Avocado Arts.  I stamped the hat and mittens in a nice green ink (clearsnap), onto woodgrain card stock (studio calico), stamped my sentiment in black ink, then embellished the card with washi tape, sparkly May Arts ribbon, and a few red pearls. Bright, happy, fun and ready to be mailed. Take a quick visit to these ladies, to see what they made using this set as well. Merry Christmas, clean and simple style

Image
Today, I have another clean and simple Christmas card using the latest stamp set from Avocado Arts .  We all have so many cards to give and send out during the Holidays, so I like to keep them more on the simple side.  Why?  Because most people trash them.  I like to save my fancy cards, for those who will cherish the card.  But, for the most part, they are clean all the way baby. The card is 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 inches (standard size card), and I started by just adding two strips of washi tape to the left hand side.  I then stamped the banner strip, and ornaments and colored them in using Copic markers that coordinated with the washi tape (easy right).  Then finished by adding the sentiment as well as some thick twine.  Cute and easy, not to mention another Christmas card stashed in my basket of cards ready for use. Head on over to these fantastic ladies, for more inspiration!!    AJ Otto     Latisha Yoast  (you are h...

Very Merry Christmas

Image
I hope all of my East Coast friends are safe and sound after Hurricane Sandy passed the last few days.  That was one monster of a storm. Today, some of the Avocado Arts Designers are posting using the Very Merry Christmas stamp set.  I decided to adhere some pattern paper down, and then stamped directly onto the tag. I Am Thankful

Image
Here is a companion card I made, to match the card I made yesterday.  I plan on making these into a set and giving them away.  So, I'm trying to keep them in the same color family.  Again, I am using Avocado Arts stamps.  I'm using simple stamping techniques, with minimal embellishments so they will only cost one stamp to mail. Check out what the other designers have created for you today, using this set as well. Happy Thanksgiving

Do you ever send Thanksgiving cards out?  To be honest, I make them, but don't send them.  Maybe this year I will actually get one into the mail?  I'm a cardmaker, not the best card sender lol.  I think the latest stamp set from Avocado Arts will help me on my mission to send a Thanksgiving card out.  It has classic images mixed with a few punny images/sentiments, to make this a great all around fall set. Grateful

Today the entire Avocado Arts Design Team is sneaking the October stamp set.  For my card, I stamped the bouquet of wheat onto kraft card stock, and then stamped the sentiment in black over them.  To embellish the card, I added black pearls on either side of the sentiment, then added lace and silk ribbon at the bottom of the card.  Visit the Avocado Arts blog , and the rest of designers for more sneaks! Grateful

September 1, 2012!  Wow!!  I hope all of the US citizens have a safe 3 day weekend, celebrating Labor Day.  I'm going to "try" and get my craft room in order...I will see how much I get done.  These days my craft time is often competing for my reading time (I'm and avid reader, and usually read 4 books a week, if not more). Anyhow, here is another card using the September stamp set from Avocado Arts.  Check out the other designers, to see their projects using this set as well. Grateful for You

Can you believe we are headed into fall?  It is still warm in these parts, but my allergies are telling me fall is right around the corner.  It is that time to start stocking up on cute fall and Halloween cards (probably Christmas too). Today, I am sharing a quick and easy card using the September stamp set from Avocado Arts.  The photo isn't picking up the coloring too well, but the pumpkin is colored in with Copic markers.  The card seemed "off" for some reason, so I sponged a little bit of orange ink at the bottom of the card to balance it out a little bit.  Visit these other designers today, to see how they used this great fall stamp set. One layered Mother's Day card

Image
The Avocado Arts designers are showing sneak peaks of the May set, called Thoughts & Smiles.  Every once in a while, a card that I see in my head actually comes out the way I see it.  It doesn't happen often, so I was so happy with my results. I knew I wanted to make a shaped card, so I used this wonderful die template, that is from the Spellbinders Jar & Labels set.  I cut/embossed two die cuts from white card stock, and trimmed the bottom point just a tad, so that it would be able to stand up alone.  I scored one of the die cuts about 1/2 inch from the top, and placed adhesive above the scored line, and then adhered the die cuts together. While I was stamping, I left the die cut in the die, so I could have a nice embossed border.  It seemed a little too white, so I sponged along the edge going from the outer edge to the inside of the die.  That will give it a graduated natural feel, and warms the card up a bit.  I didn't feel like it n...

Feel Better Soon

Image
For paper crafters, this is always such an exciting time of year.  With CHA wrapping up, I can't wait for my favorite stores to be filled with new product.  Not that there is anything wrong with "older" stuff, but there is something about the newness of something that brings a freshness to projects I make. For this card, I used the February stamp set from Avocado Arts called Wishes and Kind Thoughts.  I stamped the sentiment onto the Pebbles chipboard, then stamped, colored in, and cut out the flower (popped up with foam tape).  It was just luck, how the stamped flower matched perfectly to the flower chipboard.  The embossed background was created, by running card stock through my Grand Calibur, inside a new M-bossabilites folder. My fellow design team members, have created something special using this set as well, so if you have a minute, hop on over to their blogs too.
