New stamps

Okay, I am not a kit person.  I like to pick and choose my products and so signing up for a kit kind of scares me.  However, with Unity Stamp Co. they give you a preview of the monthly kit and you have the option to opt out.  LOVE THAT!  I am not affiliated with Unity, I'm just a happy customer.  So with that said, a few days ago I got my November kit of the month in the mail.
Unity has picked up a few new artists, Lindsey and Lisa.  Well they helped design this kit, and they are the bomb and have a pulse on what is cool.

The first card up is around 5in x 3 1/4 in, I think...
I used some Basic Grey Urban Prairie dp, and distressed the edges using a Tim Holtz distressing tool & then sponged the edges just to make it pop a little.  I put a piece of tape in between the paper layers to hold them in place while I did a zig zag stitch around the perimeter.  Let me back up for a second, before I did all of this I stamped the image onto my paper in Adirondack black soot ink, its a nice black and the ink is perfect for coloring.  So I finish my stitching, and colored in the little bird using a few different shades of red.  I went searching through my ribbon (and its a lot) and none of my solid ribbons seemed to finish off the card right.  But I kept looking at this red/cream gingham ribbon, and I would pick it up and then put it down.  Finally I just said, well let me just make a bow and see how it looks.  Well, I put it on and it never came off, I just love the feel of this card.  To finish it off I put a corsage pin through the bow and added a crystal and a pearl, and added a earing stopper/clasp at the bottom.

This is just a fun little card I made with my new labels 2 dies, from Spellbinders (I bought mine from Flourishes), the base is vintage cream, layered with some Cosmo Cricket Mr. Campy paper, vintage cream paper again with my stamped image.  This cute little deer is also from the November kit of the month from Unity.  I colored it in using copic markers and finished off the card with some yummy satin ribbon.

I love your cards. I made a couple of wooden plaques a few year's ago for my DDILs with the sentiment on the first card. The ribbon treatment is gorgeous with the pin. The deer card is just so sweet and precious.

I love the big sentiment on your first card! It would be great for a photo album title page, too. Love how you used the Spellbinders die to make your second card with the sweet little fawn image. Too cute!
