A sketch and a few cards
Here is my card sample for my sketch this week. I had originally made a different one, but I like the way this one turned out better. Plus its today's color challenge {cc174} on SCS, barely banana, groovy guava & chocolate chip. I am always skeptical about the color combinations, but they all usually turn out pretty nice. Everything on this card is SU except for the stamps. I embossed the background with clear emb powder to give it a little texture without it being too much. If you don't have a scalloped border punch, you can get a scalloped border two different ways. 1. you get a circle punch {i used 1/2 in on this one} and punch out a bunch of them, and then you line them up on the backside of the paper with 1/2 of the circle hanging over the edge or 2. Get your SU corner rounder, take off the blade, line it up straight with the paper and just go along the edge of the paper until you reach the end.
Here is my sketch challenge for the week, to see a larger picture of it scroll down to Sunday's post.
I made the first card today, I needed to send out a "thank you" card to the owner of Unity Stamp Co., Angela. I ordered stamps and pay-pal wasn't working at the time, so she sent the stamps and handles to me any ways with out payment. So I sent her a check and a thank you card today. All of the stamps on the card are Unity stamps, go check them out you will love them!
This next card I made yesterday for the featured stamper on SCS. I love this challenge because you get to go into the featured stampers gallery and case a card. I rarely case cards so Sunday's are fun when I don't have to think up a sketch. The image and sentiment are from Flourishes LLC, they are classic images with a lot of detail. I like them because I get to color. I used versamark ink and stamped the image all over on the card base. Versa mark is an ink that leaves a watermark or you can use it to emboss, or to apply pastel/chalks. It is a must have for every stamper. You can get it from any craft store or your local Stampin Up demo. When you buy it from a demonstrator, she will actually show you all the different ways to use your products.
I then stamped the image on the white card stock and colored it in with Copic markers. The black ribbon is by May Arts, and the bling I stole from my daughter Kendall, she got it in the $1 spot at Target or Michael's. My paper piercer is lost somewhere, so I used a safety pin to pierce the paper lol.

This post made me smile, because I am ALWAYS losing my paper piercer!
You did a great job improvising with the pin!
Hugs!
