a scrappy shabby card

Do you ever make something, and you just feel so proud because its awesome lol, snort >"<  I started this last night, the ribbon was not cooperating, so I decided to finish it today.  Sometimes you just have to put it down, and come back to it later or else you end up with a disasterpiece hahaha thats what I call my cards that started out great but somehow I took a wrong turn and ended up with a big ugly disasterpiece.  Anyhow, this card I just really like, it just flows, has a good design & the right amount of emellishments.
I first picked out the paper I wanted to use, so I grabbed some of this Noteworthy paper from MM, I love the shabby look of it.  The card base is vintage cream from PaperTrey Ink.  The stamping is pretty simple, the panel that has "Mr. & Mrs. Forever Love etc..." are images in, I *think* is Sweet Love from PTI and the main focal sentiment is in the stamp set Anniversary Birds from Verve.  To add to the shabby feeling of this card I added a few buttons and tied twine thru them, I add a glue dot to the bottom of the button, to make it stick to the paper, I don't sew it onto the paper.  Lastly the ribbon is very vanilla 5/8 in grosgrain ribbon by SU.  Oh to get your ribbon to run all the way around the card, I get an exacto knife and make a slit in the fold, thick enough for my ribbon to get through it.
