Red Bull Air Races San Diego 2008

So this weekend we went to the Red Bull air races {google it its cool} The air course was in the bay between Coronado Island and the SD Embarcadero. Since Jess is in the Navy we got to sit along the pier next to the USS Ronald Reagon { a newer Carrier} one word describes a carrier, massive! So if I looked to the left I saw the carrier and if I looked to my right I saw the air course and the planes. Beautiful view. Kendall and I got bored so we walked to the NEX to get snacks, but then we walk past the Vera Bradley purses and they had the new Seaside Collection. OMGoodness I was so happy, its new and very hard to find right now. So I bought the Port tote and the nautical wallet, I love them >"< I really want the hat that matches, which would be over kill , but I really don't care because it would be so freakin cute. Anyhow so this was Kendall and I still in a VB laughing fit walking back to the race area. She was telling me you always need to look cute and have a nice purse because you never know who is on purse patrol...there were security woman walking around with their purses, really wierd since they are on duty.

Is this not the coolest view or what, these prop planes go 240 knots or mph I don't know Jess is asleep. Well the planes go really really fast hahahahaha and then turn sideways to go through the pilons {SP} and there is a bunch of them. So the racers are timed, so whoever gets the best time wins.

This plane is about to go thru it

You can see the rear view of the plane as it went thru the cone things lol

At some times the planes were just 15 feet over the water, it was crazy!

We were taking a drive over by the flight line, and this Red Bull helo met us at the end of the runway, hovered, went around in a circle so I could get pictures and they were waving back and forth to the kids. This helicopter was maybe 30 feet away. Jacob kept telling Jess that his helicopter was bigger and better lol. Good job son pump your dads ego hahaha. All in all it was a good day. I didn't get to do any stamping or scrapbooking this weekend. I am a NSD queen, but not this year. We have been busy lately and I honestly havn't had too much alone time. I like to have quiet time, I get more done. Anyhow I hope you all had a great weekend!
