SC141 & another Criss Cross card

I love babies and everything about them and had a ton of stampin up designer paper I had not touched yet, not to mention they are soft masculine colors. Who doesn't like snail mail? Isn't it the best to get a card in the mail. So I made another criss cross card but I changed the way I did the criss cross, so that its a tall 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 sized card. I made this in mind for someone who is expecting a baby boy. The base is white cardstock, the designer paper is by stampin up, it came in a set I bought earlier in the year (sorry I can't remember the name of the set). Anyhow, since it came together it all coordinated perfectly. The chipboard is by Basic Grey and I stamped it in True Thyme SU, and then stamped the footprint and sentiment with SU white craft ink, and tied it onto the card with greenish/silverish ribbon. For the inside, the base is SU so saffron, then white cardstock. I used a creative memories to circle punch to make the tab with leftover designer & white paper. Thinking of you today sentiment is stamps by Judith, the flourishes is by SU and I'm not sure on the handprints. Ink is true thyme and so saffron. I punched the corners of the insert with a creative memories scallop corner punch. These are really fun to make and look so cute when they are finished. So over at http://www.splitcoaststampers/ they have daily challenges this was Wednesdays sketch challenge SC141. The cardbase is white cardstock, the designer paper is blush checkerboard and blush paisley by the Paper Studio. I used the square scallop punch using the bohemia line of paper and used white souffle pens to makes dots around the edge. The Stampendous bees are the cutest little buggers. I stamped them on white cardstock, colored them in with Marvy markers, added a little stickles (that you can't see) on their wings and then cut around the image. What is a card without ribbon, right? So I had some SU narrow black organdy ribbon laying around and some new marroon May arts ribbon that I used to finish off the card. Before I forget, before I added the bee's and the scalloped square, I ran the front of the card through my cuddlebug using the textile embossing folder. This isn't my favorite card I have ever made but sketch challenges, are a challenge to get you out of your box and try something new.

Love your baby card, and those bees are just too cute. I most definitely have to make one of these criss cross cards.
