Better with a Friend

Happy Friday!!  Today Stacy has challenged us to distress.  I really don't distress a lot, but I do love the look of it, and add so much texture to your card.  For Stacy's tutorial head on over to the Flourishes Newsletter.
So yesterday, I took my daughter to her 8th grade orientation, basically she got her schedule and found her classes.  We home schooled our children last year, so she has missed most of the Jr. High drama, so I am freaking out a little bit, I don't think she is ready for the "mean girls".  Kendall is the sweetest girl, very studious, polite, kind and still says, "yes ma'am & yes sir".  Sometimes I can't believe I have raised such a wonderful person.
Both of my children start school on Monday, and with my hubby gone, I don't have anyone to go out to breakfast with that morning.  I have had a tradition since my daughter was in Kindergarten, I drop her off at school on the first day of school and then go to breakfast with a friend or my husband.  This is the first year ever in 9 years I will have no-one to go to breakfast or coffee with...I know isn't that depressing.  I still have a few days find any takers lol, if not I will just stay home and call someone to pout lol.  Did I mention my husband is in the Bahamas...so not fair (he is working, not pleasure, but still).  So I made this card, because the sentiment rings true with me.  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!

I used Flourishes coffee set, classic ivory card stock and Jenni Bowlin paper all found here

This is too cute and so sweet! I like the papers and these cups are wonderful!
If I was there I would give you a big hug and we would go to breakfast. :0) I know what you mean about them not ready for the mean kids. I am not sure if I will ever be ready for the public school. I have a few years for that still thank GOD. Big hugs... I know you will have a great day, maybe something unexpected will happen. You can call me if you want. I can chat while you eat. hee hee
Latisha, it looks like a pretty country kitchen! So sweet!

I didn't realize our daughters were the same age. They sound very similar in personality too, I'm hoping it will be a GREAT year for your girl! Those adjustments are so hard aren't they?

A perfect card to go with your thoughts today. This reminds me of breakfast in a country kitchen -- so cute! I hope everything goes well for your daughter and you. I know your daughter will be okay. Gosh, it would be fun to go to breakfast with a friend every morning! Hope that works out for you, too!

Oh girlie, I would be there in a heartbeat! I hope your daughter finds another sweet, polite, studious, friendly young lady to hang out with. Thankfully, if you find friends - the mean girls can be kept at bay. I'll say some prayers for her! Your card is darling as usual- I love the ink around the edges -- nice touch!

I'll be thinkin' bout ya! ;-)
