Ok so I attempted to make a monochromatic card, its close but not really a true definition of monochromatic meaning "one tone".  I say, I used warm colors which could be considered a color family. OK I know I'm stretching it a little, but honestly this is what I came up with so I'm going with it & it took longer than what I would have like.  I don't have a lot of time to create, so I try to limit my time to make a card around 15-30 minutes...is that too long?  I did a lot of stamping, coloring, & not to mention, used a lot of layers so it took a little longer.  In my defense I was done by the time Jess got back from the gym.
Today's color challenge (cc182 on scs) is monochromatic if you all want to try your hand at it too.  I used three different stamp sets from Flourishes llc, Damask, Lilac & Fantasy Floral Garden.  I stamped the Damask background using chocolate chip from SU and then Memento for the flowers and the sentiment.  I used a ruby red stamp pad and paintbrush to color in the flowers, before you open your stamp pad, you just smoosh it together, then when you open it up there is ink on the lid.  I wet my paintbrush and begin to color, I wanted a deeper color in some parts and since I don't have the SU markers, I just got this little nib (kind of like a toothpick but softer) and inked it up and went over the the edges to darken it a little.  The designer paper is from Prima's Tea and Silk collection.  It doesn't photograph very well but I used a Sakura glitter pen over the flowers & in real life its really sparkly and pretty.
