Another layout and Father's Day card
Here is a layout I did a few weeks ago, and the card I made for Father's Day to send to my dad. I love turning my photos into black and white pictures. I can use pretty paper and embellishments, but the photo still remains the focal piece. Last year I bought the entire Dutch Girl line {by Cosmo Cricket}. Do you see the words "There is only one pretty child in the world and every mother has it" it actually was part of the paper but I cut it up to run along the photo as a border, but don't you just love that saying! The flowers of course are from Prima, and the gross grain ribbon running along the side is SU.
I am trying really hard to raise amazing children, so the sentiment "Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path, and leave a trail." was absolutely perfect {sentiment is from Unity Stamps}. I want my children to dream big and to leave a trail.
On to the card before I get too mushy here. This image is also from Unity Stamp Co. This is a true one layered card! Just the cardstock and that is it. I stamped the tree, and then colored it in with Copic markers, I did a lot of blending, I normally wouldn't spend this much time on a card unless its for someone special, like my Dad.
I paper pierced the two edges, and faux stitched it. I still didn't think the card looked right, so I took my score-pal and made two score lines to border the stitching and the image. Waalaa perfection >"<
Do you want to hear something sweet? My Dad keeps every card that I send him, even the envelope, how cute is that!!
