Extra Bonus Day!

Image
Surprise! There is a bonus day for the Lawn Fawn Inspiration Week. Today is the very last day, yesterday was the release and we just had to share a few more projects. This cake slice die, is so freaking adorable. And I have to say, would make such great packaging for party favors and gifts. The die set comes with everything to complete the cake slice. Top, bottom, embellishments and details. Its a great stand alone die for sure! There is also another die set called Just Stitching Double Rectangles. This creates a double stitched rectangle on the project of choice. Head on over to the Lawn Fawn Blog to check out todays projects!

Thanks So Much

Are you following along with the Summer release from Lawn Fawn? Do you have a favorite so far? I am loving all the stamp/dies that are beach related! Today my card is using a brand new die called Tropical Backdrop.  I know a lot of cardmakers, do not like to color. So this project is a great example of how you can achieve a fun and colorful background by just using pattern paper.  I have seen some of the projects that the other designers have created and they are incredible! Head on over to the Lawn Fawn blog to check them out!

Smooth Sailing

Image
After living in Florida for over 10 years, and my husband being in the Navy, its easy to say I love all things nautical. This Smooth Sailing stamp set from Lawn Fawn has anchors, sailboats, lighthouses, and wonderful sentiments.  There is something really eye catching when you use pink/orange/yellow together. It kind of reminds me of a sunset. That is the inspiration from this card, is the cotton candy sunset you see when visiting the coast of California. The sailboat and anchors were stamped in black ink, and then colored in using Copic markers. The banners and the images were all adhered to the card with foam adhesive for added dimension. Head on over to the Lawn Fawn blog for projects using this stamp set!

Speech Bubbles

Image
My blog post never went live yesterday, so I am combining two cards in one today.  First up is a new backdrop from Lawn Fawn called Speech Bubble Backdrop. Its a die where the edge is stitched but the speech bubbles get die cut. I chose to remove the bubbles and then watercolor them in light pink, orange and yellow. There is another speech bubble die, where the inside speech bubbles are stitched and do not get cut out. I am just putting it out there so you know there are two choices!  The little cute dog is a new stamp, and can be found in the Say What? Pets. Over on the Lawn Fawn blog, you can see the different dies and new stamps and how they are used on projects. In the speech bubble theme. There are also two new die sets, Stitched Speech Bubble (used above) and Outside In Speech Bubble (where you get a frame). This watercolor paper was diecut using a Speech Bubble die. The peacock and sentiments were stamped in black and mermaid, then colored in using wate...

Keep On Swimming

Image
This new stamp set called Keep on Swimming from Lawn Fawn , is a stamp set made to be used in conjunction with the reveal wheel die. However, the images and sentiments are perfect to use alone as well.  I knew I was going to paint the goldfish and orange tone, so the fake tan cardstock was an easy choice to pair with (the hearts were stamped in clear ink). The white panel is actually watercolor paper and the images are colored in using watercolor pigment inks.  Sometimes it is very hard to get a clear impression especially with sentiments when you stamp onto watercolor paper. But, when you use a stamping platform where you are able to stamp the same image or sentiment multiple times, perfectly, you will get that nice and even stamped image/sentiment. To tie the card together, I finished by adding trimmings to coordinate. Head on over to the Lawn Fawn Blog to see much more inspiration.

Here For You

Image
One of the coolest things that Lawn Fawn started to do a few years ago, was to start their interactive card dies. They are so well thought out, and just so fun to create with. Today, I am sharing a mini card using the latest interactive card die set. Its called Center Picture Window Card die.  From the front, it looks like a normal typical card, but then when you open it up a 3 dimensional scene pops up. There is also an add on die set that coordinates! The cards that the Lawn Fawn design team have created using this die set, are amazing and so cool! Head on over to the Lawn Fawn blog to see all the beautiful inspiration and for a chance to win this die set!

You're A Blessing

Image
Hello friends! Fun stuff happening today!! Technique Tuesday is having a blog hop celebrating National Scrapbook Day this Saturday, and they are giving away free stamps and dies. At the bottom of the post will be instructions on how to claim them. I am slightly obsessed with the stamp set I used on my card. It is called Fresh Peonies from Technique Tuesday. It is so pretty, and even more beautiful when you color it in. I decided to watercolor the image (that I stamped several times), because I get depth and dimension using this coloring technique. Copics are my absolute favorite, but there is something special that happens when you watercolor this image. To see what all of the other designers are sharing today, head on over to their blogs!
