Calendar Squares

The sun is shining outside, the temperature is great, but my heart is a little broken today.  My husband is packing his sea bags, he is deploying very, very soon.  I think we all are in denial a little bit, it kind of protects you from the overwhelming emotion of saying goodbye, denial is where I will stay a little bit longer.  I try to stay strong as long as possible, it is hard for the kids and Jess to see me upset, so the shower is my cry zone.
Gosh, I'm really not ready to go through another deployment...that is what my heart is telling me.
Go clean all your panties, its time to be a big girl...is what my brain is telling me.
Anyhow, it is a tradition for a command to have a calendar, and everyday a new day/square is put up.  Here are a few of mine.  They are simple, but Jess is a manly man, and doesn't do frilly.  I just used really thick card stock, some of my favorite pictures and Avocado Arts stamps.  These are 4 3/4 x 4 3/4 inches.  These will be sent to the squadron tomorrow, so I just wanted to share them before they leave the house.

I can't imagine how hard it must be. Thank you and your husband and family for your sacrifices for our country.

What is a command calendar? How does it work? Have never heard of it, so not grasping what it looks like etc!
