For You

Happy Labor Day to my American friends.
The first Labor day was observed Sept. 5, 1882, and became a federal holiday in 1894.
To most Americans Labor Day means the end of summer, and the beginning of Football (NFL & college).  I am pretty sure a Nascar is raced on Labor Day as well.  Growing up, we always went to a parade, but I think most towns have forgone that tradition.
We had a low key weekend.  I went to a co-baby shower on Saturday.  Most of the wives (all our hubbies work together) got together to celebrate two babies on their way.  Our host made some amazing food and I brought cupcakes from a local cupcakery.  Yesterday, my children and I stayed in our pajamas, ate not so healthy food, cleaned the house and stayed up pretty late watching scary movies.  Today, we are still in our pajamas, I am doing laundry, still cleaning and will head to the grocery store later to pick up some groceries for the week.  Star Wars is on in the back ground, I may change the channel, but the inner geek/70's child in me tells me to leave it on.  Not to mention my son is a big Star Wars fan now.
Well, I am sure you all didn't come here to listen about my boring weekend.  I have had this idea in my head for a while, so I am glad I was able to get it onto paper.  The sentiment is from the School Basics set & the flower border is from the Cake Shoppe set (both Mint Motif).  I cut/embossed the Prima Annalee paper using the Spellbinders S4-294 Lacey Cicles Nestabilities (to get the inside of the lacey circle cut out, use a standard circles die).  I added some ribbon, stick pins, and tied a little twine to one of the stick pins, to embellish the card a little.

Materials Used:
School Basics from Mint Motif (sold at i{heart}papers)
Cake Shoppe from Mint Motif (sold at i{heart}papers)
Prima Pattern Paper
Spellbinders S4-293 Lacey Circles Nestabilities
Ivory grosgrain ribbon
Little Yellow Bicycle flower stick pins
Jillibean Soup bakers twine
