Mini book made from Grand Nestabilities

Late in the late afternoon yesterday, I went to check my mail and to my surprise there were two sets of the new large format dies from Spellbinders, sitting in my mailbox.  Let me rephrase, I had two packages of the Grand Nestabilities, which were the Grand Ovals and the Grand Scalloped Ovals.  I may have done a little jiggity jig dance when I held them in my hands.  I know that sounds crazy, but you, the paper crafter reading this has done that same giddy dance after receiving awesome product in the mail, it is like Christmas.  Sometimes I think I may be half crazy for getting excited over paper & ribbon, but at least I am in the crazy boat with a bunch of fun people right!  Anyhow, so after I opened the package, I was in instant agony because I knew I couldn't play right away :( super sad right?  After a major thunderstorm, parents cross country meeting at the high school, errands, dinner, homework, showers & finally putting the kids to bed.  By the time I sat down to play, it was 11pm last night!  I had so much fun, and I cannot wait to create more fabulous projects with these.
Okay, let's get down to business here.  The reason why I was so excited over these dies, is because of their size.  There is nothing else on the market right now like them, basically they are pretty special.  Head on over to the Spellbinders site for more info on the Grand Calibur machine & the Grand Nestabilities.
The scalloped kraft paper that is cut/embossed was created by using the largest die (die #6), then cutting it in half for my front/back of my little book.  The size of the die is 8 1/4" x 6 1/4", this is major people!  The possibilities of the Grand Nestabilities are endless.  To create the nested oval shapes, I used the Grand Oval dies, specifically dies #4, #5, & #6, which are the three largest in the set.  A lot of you have emailed me asking how I get a nice, deep, embossed edge.  The simple answer is, I use a great card stock, preferably on the thicker side.  For this project, the card stock used is from GinaK designs, she has two weights, and I used the heavy weight.  All of the pattern paper, chipboard, alpha stickers, etc...are from Cosmo Cricket.
I had so much fun making this little book, it really has inspired me to make more.  I think that is why mini books are so attractive to make, you get a completed project in minimal time.  If you have made a mini book, I would love to see it!  Just link it in the comments.

The size of the dies means you can only use them in the Grand Calibur, right? I love Nestabilities but think the ovals are too small, but I bought my big shot less than three months ago so I can't buy a new die cut machine... I would need an intermediate size: bigger than standard, but still fitting in the big shot...
