Verve Honored Guest Challenge #2

So yesterday I really needed to get out so I found a scrapbooking store out of Paper Trends, and it happens to be really close to me. Well the store had some yummy black May Arts ribbon. I saw this ribbon first In Jan Marie's ordering room, but I was about to move and couldn't be buying stuff then. So I picked up 6 yards of it {its the ribbon on the left side of the card, not the organdy} I think I might use it on my swap I have coming up, hmmm have to think about that >"<
So, Verve Visual is having their 2nd Honored Guest challenge. The card needs to be a long card. Mine is 3x6 is that considered long? I think so>"<>
Before I really looked at the sketch I knew I was going to use this ribbon and kraft paper. After a look at my cardstock, I noticed I was still hoarding the Aqua Mist paper from Papertrey, so I cut away and it didn't hurt. I actually didn't care. Normally when I have been hoarding something like paper, when I cut into it I get a little sad. Am I just crazy and alone feeling this way?
You can't really tell from the picture, but on the main panel on the white cardstock, I stamped "thank you" in aqua mist, all over. Then only 3 times in black. Aqua mist isn't really dark and your image can be drowned out when you stamp with it. So to solve my problem, stamping the sentiment a few times in basic black, made it pop.
After I cut out the birds, they were telling me {because my stamps and I talk, my kids think I'm crazy because I will be sitting at the table talking to myself LOL} that they needed to be jazzed up a little. So I took out my new handy dandy white Inkssentials pens, and made swirls. Have you noticed Julee puts her little swirl on a lot of her stamps {like at the end of the birds tail}. I think its neat & who doesn't love swirls!
Oh, the bird is from the Anniversary Birds stamp set from Verve & the "thank you" sentiment is from Flourishes.

Materials used: Kraft & Whisper White cardstock from SU, Aqua Mist cardstock from PTI, Basic Black stamp pad from SU, Aqua Mist stamp pad from PTI, May Arts black ribbon, narrow organdy ribbon from SU, silver gromets, dimmensionals, white pen from Inkssentials, Stardust pen from Sakura, Anniversary Birds stamp set from Verve Visual, Flourished Words from Flourishes
