note pads cut in half
So remember a while back when my friend Chris sent me one of these notebooks, well I had to make one...they are so cute. So last weekend I went to Office Max, and bought a package of 12 notebooks {8 x 5 1/2 in}, then I took it to the counter {where you get copies done and stuff.} and asked them to cut the notebooks in half, so now they are 8in x 2 1/2in, and now you have 24 cut notebooks. I did get charged 75 cents for each cut {he made two cuts}, but I hear some places will not charge you for each cut.
I got a piece of white cardstock 8 1/4 x 5 1/2 in...you need to leave room to score and a for a little bit of the cardstock to hang over the edges of the notebook. I believe I scored my paper at 2 1/2 inches and 2 3/4 inches, then I did the same with this paisley pink dp that i put over the cardstock. I did this because the dp is really thin and I needed something a little sturdier, to hold it all together. I punched out a scallop circle and used the borders and corners monogram set, to stamp the circle in spring moss, then in stazon black I stamped the "A" & underneath the ribbon I stamped "absolutely fabulous" from PTI Mixed Messages stamp set. The spring moss grosgrain ribbon is also by PTI. I put dimmensionals underneathe the scalloped circle, so I could add a prima. This is really simple and so affordable to do. Time is really sneaking up on me and I have a million things to do before we move, but I really want to make more of these as gifts.
