more thank you cards :)

After my daughter finished & sent out her thank you cards I thought it might be a good time to finish mine :) My inspiration came from some newly bought May Arts ribbon. Its double sided stitched satin ribbon, I love it and have it in many different colors. I find it much easier to make a card if I have an idea of what I want to use, be it ribbon, paper or a stamp etc. The ribbon is pretty close to purely pomegranite and barely banana (SU colors), so I grabbed the cardstock in those colors. Then I went through my designer paper and looked for a sheet that matched both. I chose a BasicGrey paper from the Blush line. The image is from Michael's dollar bin stamped in purely pomegranite. I ran the barely banana cardstock through my Cuddlebug using the thank you embossing folder. If a card looks too plain and I don't want to use more designer paper, I will dry emboss the background. It makes a card pop without spending anymore money on it. I think that is what prevents me from sending more cards out, is the time and money I spend on just one card, and not thinking the receiver will appreciate my work (normal people, not people who hoard cardstock lol). I like things even, and don't like to leave a 1/2 sheet of paper left, so I ended up making 6 of these cards. Making several of one card also doesn't zap my mojo, trying to think up a new card. I try to limit myself to only a few projects a day other wise I am not productive and get overwhelmed.
I wish I could stamp today, but I don't think that is going to happen. Jess is flying and will not be home until late this evening, and I have lots of errands and chores to get done. Maybe during American Idol tonight I will listen and stamp at the same time...that might be hard to do, the people that audition for American Idol are half crazy lol and you can't help but watch hehe.

Latisha, it is a very lovely card and I love the colours you have used.Do you like your Cuddlebug (cuttlebug here I think)? I don't have one but think it might be something I need to get, lol. Glad to here that american idol is as mad as ours, I wonder where they find these people, hehe. That ribbon is so gorgeous, you are all very lucky over the pond, your supplies are much more varied...I know what you mean about receivers not appreciating your work... I think we should just send cards to each other, at least we all appreciate the work that has gone in to them.....
