Hooray for weekends! I plan on cleaning and doing a lot of relaxing. I just need to re-charge. Do you ever just need a breather? Between design work, busy kids schedule & my hubby's work schedule, my life has been a little tornado.  So relaxation is in order. Here is a card that I made using the Very Square Sentiments from Mint Motif , sold exclusively through i{heart}papers.  I just love the Cappella line of paper from Basic Grey, and it screams elegant/love/wedding to me.  I stamped the sentiment onto the pinkish color pattern paper, then cut/embossed the paper using the S5-022 Labels Ten die template from Spellbinders ™.   The flowers are Prima & the twine and lace are from May Arts.  To soften the card up a little, I rounded the bottom corners. I like to know about new things from other people, so I thought I would tell you about a new stamp company that I just made a purchase from. Before we went to Orlando a few weeks ago, I bought a few stamps sets from Wplus9 .  They are a new to me stamp company, and I found it because a few of my favorite stampers are on the design team.  My stamps arrived super fast, so that was awesome.  One of the first things I noticed about the sets, is that they are really big sets, 6 x 8 inches.  So you really get your monies worth.  I bought the Woodgrain Silhouettes & Woodgrain Silhouettes additions.  They are a wonderful mix of stamps.  You get woodgrain patterns, woodgrain with botanicals, then a bunch of botanical & butterfly images.  Really fabulous stuff.  The stamps are made from photopolymer, so they stamp great and are made in the USA. How are the days just flying by? My children are keeping me very busy this summer. I am trying to find a nice balance with everything. I apologize for the lack of posts lately, I am working on CHA projects and other fun things. On this card, I used some fabulous Ali Edwards stamps by Technique Tuesday .  The are fun versatile, and have so much meaning behind them.  I was inspired by some pretty My Minds Eye paper that I picked up last month.  This card would be perfect for anyone.  If I were to send it to a man, I would probably change the bow into a knot & maybe remove the butterfly.  Butterflies seem a little feminine to me, and most of the men in my life (dad, hubby, son) are manly men.  To soften the card up, I rounded the corners on the bottom, then on the bottom corner of the pattern paper.  This is a longer/taller card, I believe the measurements are 3 3/4 x 6 inches, and I used bazzill kraft card stock.  Oh and the butterfly is from J...

I hope you all are enjoying the Summer Solstice. It is thunderstorming in my neck of the woods. I am not complaining I actually love thunderstorms, except when I am trying to photograph projects. I do not use a light box, only natural light, so summer weather in the south can derail me sometimes. Here is a thinking of you card, using Mint Motif stamps , sold through i{heart}papers . I love the font on the sentiment, it is so clean and graphic. I first stamped the sentiment in a rust colored ink, then went over it with black. In the picture it looks a little blurry, but in person it gives it a really cool effect. Sorry, that I have not been posting as much lately, I have a lot of deadlines & design work that I am trying to finish up.  Also, my children have me really busy driving them around to their summer sports stuff (swim, volleyball & cross country).   I hope you all have a wonderful Friday and weekend.  It is very hot down here in Florida, but I really don't mind the heat, I'm not one to really complain about the weather.  Today is hot, muggy with a side of thunderstorms hee!

One of my favorite places to send my cards is Operation Write Home . Cards are sent to deployed Armed Forces, then they are able to use the cards to send home.  One of the requirements, is that they are not bulky.  If you have some cards laying around, please think about sending them to Operation Write Home.  From personal experience, getting snail mail from my husband when he is gone, is the best feeling.   It is fun to use stamping techniques that I first learned.  For this card, I did some basic stamping techniques, like embossing with clear embossing powder, and creating my own pattern paper by stamping an image repeatedly.  I paper pierced around the edge of the sentiment, and didn't really like the way it looked, so I took some floss, and ran it through the holes for a simple stitch.  Adding the ruffled yellow ribbon, and tying a bow with the floss added a nice feminine touch.  The stamps are from Mint Motif, sold exclusively through i {hea...
