June Release Day #2: Love Life
Day #2, and today I'm showing you a card I make using the Life, Love, Lemons set from Flourishes. This set screams summer, and has the cutest images! I stamped a lemon tree, lemon wedge and lemon slice, then colored them in using Copic markers (Flourishes will be carrying them very soon!!). Have you checked out the lace that Flourishes sells? Seriously, its hard for me to make a card without it...I so love it! To brighten up the card & to add contrast I used some satin pink ribbon, then attached a button using twine. For your chance to win this set, head on over to the Flourishes Newsletter, to enter!
Right now even with my hubby gone, I just love life! The kids and I went to see Up, then went on a 4 mile bike ride. It was so hot out, and neither one of them complained. It felt like I was in a movie, the sidewalks are around 8-9 ft wide, there were couples out walking, all of them said "hello" as we passed, one older couple even commented on what a beautiful family we were. Cars waited to turn, so we could cross the street first without stopping (which I am so thankful for, my Jacob is just learning how to ride his new BMX bike) When we finally made it to Walgreens, the checker, sat and talked to us in her most polite southern accent, about the weather and what she had done that day, questioned what we were up to, and we were perfect strangers. Ask any military spouse, when their husband is gone, the thing you don't have very much of, is interaction with other people, you are just so busy taking care of your family, so, to have a meaningless conversation with her made my heart sing. So as I was on that bike ride, I think the man upstairs opened my eyes, and made me see how truly blessed and lucky I am. I live in a wonderful community/neighborhood where the people are so friendly and kind, I felt like I was at home.

I have to tell you I have a lot of respect for military families as you know. How you do it with your spouses gone is very hard on all of you. I am so glad that you had a great bike ride and felt very at home and had an *extended* family hug then. I hope while he is away that you continue to have days like today. Hugs.
And I love hearing about the blessing God spoke to you today...through what you experienced and through others. Big hugs girl!
