Just my Type sneak

Today, I am showing you a sneak peak, of a new set called Just My Type from LawnFawn.

One of my favorite images from this set is this cute typewriter.

There are fun little sentiments included, that you can stamp inside of it.

How cool is that!!

I colored the image in using Copic markers.

The sentiment was paper pieced, and I distressed the edges with ink.

So, a few days ago, I walked into my local Scrapbook store and the owner informs a few of us that a box just came from Basic Grey.  Yes people, it had the Basics line, Cappella and Max & Whiskars.  Of course I "had" to have them all, so I picked up some 6x6 pads, stickers and a few other odds and ends.  My favorite color from the three Basics lines, probably is the Manila, I thought it would be the kraft, but the kraft is a little too brown.  Oh well, I still like it alot.

So in this card, the really pretty background paper is from the 6x6 Cappella paper pack, and the sentiment is stamped on some Manila 6x6 pattern paper.  The Cappella paper is so elegant and classy, it would be perfect for Wedding cards.  

The "merci" stamp is from Lawn Fawn.

Happy Monday folks.  You know, I really don't mind Monday's, they are slow to start in the morning after having the weekend off.  But, I love the schedule of the weekday brings.  The children are off to school, hubby is off to work and I have my daily stuff to get done, before the afternoon activities start.  

Anyhow, today Maren challenged a few of us to use sewing on a project.  I don't sew too often on my cards, however, I do love the way it looks.

Using Impressabilities

Today, I am showing a card using the Impressabilities by Spellbinders.  What I love about these, is that you are able to emboss or deboss pretty much anything that you can fit through your wizard.  On my card, I used the Fleur De Lis Stripe Impressabilities.  Then I took a sponge dauber and a pink shade of ink, and rubbed it over the top of the card stock to expose the imprint a little deeper.  I hear GinaK has done a video on using the Impressabilities, Gina's videos are always so informative, so check it out here.

2s4u sketch #50, a quick thank you card

Have you seen this weeks sketch by Laura, over at 2sketches4you?!  I love it!  With a child at home with a cold, this sketch really gave me the mojo to get a card done.  I also need to send out a stack of thank you cards, to some amazing people. A sketch + fabby products = fun card.  It has been warm for a few weeks now, so spring is really here, where I live.  With the flowers in bloom, the blue sky, and green grass, I wanted to make a bright cheery card, with fun colors.  The Vintage Blue line of paper from WeR Memory Keepers, is just that, fun!  The patterns and colors make me happy, not to mention the paper is a little thicker and has some tooth to it, so that is always a plus.  The butterfly is from the Basic Grey, Green at Heart line.  I seriously love the felties/woolies I am seeing lately, they are so flippin cute.  The sentiment is from Unity Stamp Co. stamped in a black ink from Colorbox.  I created the border using the S4-241 Jumbo Scalloped Borderabilities® Petites from Spellbinders.  The curvy bracket looking shape, was cut an embossed using a S4-161 Labels One die, also from Spellbinders.  The little aqua pearls, are from a Basic Grey Opaline pack.

Lawn Fawn & a short recap

Hello!!!

Sorry I didn't have any posts for a few days, however I was in Arizona, at the Spellbinders 2010 Design Team retreat.  I learned so much, I hope my brain will retain it all.  The designers not only are talented, but so fun and nice as well.  I just love it when your expectations of someone/something are far better than you could of guessed.  We laughed, ate, and had so much fun while learning.  Exhaustion is starting to set in, but it was well worth it.  Oh my goodness, don't even get me started on the product.  I had two suit cases full of product, and two boxes of stuff that I couldn't fit that are being sent to me.  I feel like it was Christmas.  Spellbinders really knows how to spoil their designers, it was like being at the Oprah show, but all of the gifts were craft related :)

I will try and get photos up soon.

So here is a card today using some Lawn Fawn stamps, mixed in with American Crafts and my most favorite kraft paper, oh and a Big Scalloped Rectangle large Nestability die from Spellbinders.  A fun and happy spring card.

recipe:

1.  Cut and score card stock

2.  Cut an emboss aqua card stock.

3.  Using Versamark ink, stamp the flower onto the kraft & aqua paper.

4.  Layer pattern paper onto kraft base.

5.  Stamp sentiment and swirly flourish onto aqua card stock.

6.  Using foam tape adhere rectangle to card base.

7.  Using foam tape adhere the flower to the card.

Fun bike card

Here is a card that I made for my January Dirty Dozen gallery.

I wanted to make a fun shaped card.

So I used some Spellbinders dies, to help achieve that.

The stamps are from Our Craft Lounge.

I colored in the image using Copic markers...gosh I love those things.

I love bike images.

Maybe its because I love my pink beach cruiser with basket.

It is so girly, pink and me...love love love it.

A flower & button challenge

Well a few fun card makers, along with myself are playing a challenge today.

To use flowers and buttons on a card/project.

Well thanks to Basic Grey, they make these lovely flower embellishments with buttons already on them. How cool is that!

I used the sketch on the last post for this card.

The paper, sticker lace, and flowers are from Basic Grey Kioshi line.

The white trim is from Webster's Pages.

Then fun foam letters are from American Crafts.

Today is a busy one for me.

Lots of errands and last minute cleaning.

My father in law arrives today.

We are most excited.

It has been around 16 months since we have seen him.

To say that I am excited and thrilled to be a part of this blog hop, is a huge understatement.

I for one, love a great sketch, and this one is just that, great.

In fact this entire issue is full of them.

For me, a sketch is a starting point, a place to draw inspiration from and find your mojo.

Sometimes, what I end up with doesn't look like the sketch, and that is okay too.

I made a card, and a gift card holder.

The Material Girl line from Cosmo Cricket, just makes me smile.

If I use product that I love, then most likely it will be something pleasing to the eye.

Well at least to me lol

I have two school aged children, so I am constantly in need for age appropriate cards.

How flipping fantastically cute is that googly-eyed little girl?

Way cute!

For the card, I flipped the sketch, so that it would work for a tall card.

I used the Tiny Type alphabet stickers to create my sentiment.

Besides the twine and card stock, all product is from Cosmo Cricket.

This is going to be a coordinating gift card holder.

I used an awesome Maya Road envelope.

Again, all Cosmo Cricket product, except the "you," stamp which is from Technique Tuesday.

How Delightful

Happy Wednesday!

The weather is beautiful and my children are on Spring Break.

Life is wonderful, except for my dreaded allergies.

Here is a cute card for you today.

It is going in the mail, to a friend who is starting to quilt.

Isn't that sewing machine so adorable!

I stamped it with Memento ink, then colored it in using copic markers.

Quick card made out of scraps

Easy peasy card today

Made out of scraps

Even the flower was two pieces of Bloomers ribbon from Websters Pages, but there was no way I was going to throw out those scraps.  So, I used some Zip-Dry and squished them together to become one flower.  The designer paper is from the Girls Paperie, again too nice and too pricey to throw those scraps out.  One thing that I have noticed and really enjoy about the Girls Paperie, is that the paper is a little thicker than normal designer paper, it is thick like My Minds Eye paper.
