Recycled challenge

Image
This week the fabulous Sherry, challenged us to use something recycled in our card/project, such as yarn, foil, or packaging.  So I ripped up a brown paper bag, stamped on it, cut it to size, punched the edge, crumpled it up and then distressed the edges.  I layered it on some Basic Grey Porcelain dp, bazzil textured paper & kraft.  I had just enough brown/cream gingham ribbon left to tie a cute bow & found a red button to put in the corner.  The flowers on the image were colored in using Copic markers, but any brand of markers would achieve the same look.  If you decided to play along, be sure to use USC28 in your keywords over on SCS.  The image is from The Unity Stamp Co. "life" materials used: kraft, Bazzil red, Basic Grey Porcelain paper Brown paper bag Unity Stamps SU scalloped edge punch, spiral punch button, twine, Copic markers

Fabulous Friend

Image
I am really loving the Flower Patch paper from Making Memories, its so springy and just makes me smile.  The image is from Unity and the sentiment is from PaperTreyInk.  I pulled out a few of my nestability dies, they really make a card look so finished.  The flower image was colored in using Copic markers & was stamped in Memento ink on Neenah solar white paper.  The holes on the big green button, were big enough for me to thread the twill through them to tie a bow. Is it spring in your neck of the woods yet?  The weather has been so amazing here lately, I just am soaking it all in.  With me having Crohn's disease, I do not do well at all in the winter, so bring on the HEAT!!

Picture frame project

Clear Sweet Peas

Image
If any of you tried to order the Sweet Peas set, Flourishes sold out of it the first night, but good news, they placed a re-order of the stamps.  So Sweet Peas will be back in this week, along with the Jenni Bowlin paper.  Pictures of the full sets are on the Flourishes Newsletter blog . Here is another card that I made using the Sweet Peas set, I paired it with the Clear Card stock (vinyl not acetate) some Basic Grey Porcelain paper and some May Arts ribbon, all the products used can be found at the Flourishes website .   The panel was cut out using a long scalloped rectangle Nestability die from Spellbinders, the tag is also Spellbinders.  The image is colored in using Copic Markers, then using a dauber I sponged around the edges, the white was just too white, its looks much better distressed now.  Clear Cardstock from Flourishes is not like acetate, its much heavier, which means it will stand up on its own and each side has a glossy smooth feel, no rough side like acetate.
