  Hello friends! Today brings a few autumn cards to the blog. Fall is not my favorite season, but the colors it brings are so very pretty. Here are some new products hitting the shelves of Taylored Expressions today.  This card came together pretty quickly. In my mind, I wanted to create a wreath of sorts. Not a typical wreath but a bundle of the stamped images. First, the swirl background was diecut with white cardstock before being adhered to the cardftont, along with the sentiment. The leaves were stamped in yellow and orange inks, then diecut and adhered with foam adhesive. Some of the leaves had two layers of foam adhesive for two reasons, so the leaves could be arranged that way and also for added dimension. The What a Hoot Cling and Clear Combo set and stencil has everything you need to make so many different variations and more of this card.   Over at Taylored Expressions today, the free with purchase items from the last few months are now available for purchase. The card I am sharing today is from the Mixed Blooms layering stencil along with the Little Bits Mixed Blooms. The stencil is 3 separate pieces which really allow the crafter to come up with so many options. The ink was applied to the lavender glaze card base. There are a few ways to get a bold ink blend when using a darker cardstock. You can first go over the stencil with a white pigment ink, like sugar cube. Let the ink dry and then go over it again with your water based ink. Or you can use something like distress oxide inks. Both work great. Once the ink dried, with a white pen I made little marks inside some of the flowers for contrast. The "thank you" was stamped in coordinating lavender glaze ink onto sugar cube cardstock, then die cut out and adhered to the card. The diecut mixed blooms were then added around the sentiment for added interest. 

There is a new kit from Taylored Expressions called Abstract Accents. There are stamps, stencils and dies in this kit to create beautiful cards with a meaningful sentiment.  Using different sized stencils, inks and blender brushes, the red, pink, orange and yellow shapes were blended onto the card front. Then using the images from the stamp set, the different elements were stamped at the bottom and top of the card. To finish the "thinking of you' was stamped in black for a bold focal point on the card.  If I can get rainbow colors onto a card, I am going to do it. There is just something so visually satisfying seeing a card with those colors.  Using the same stencils, ink, and stamps you can get a totally different look, by just placing the stencils in a different location. The card was elevated by stamping the image multiple times in different inks, then cutting the panel down. The sentiment was stamped in black ink.   Is anyone else wondering how it is August already? Where has this year gone? It truly is just flying by. I hope all of you have had a nice summer. Here in the States, kids are starting to go back to school and lots of people are taking late summer vacations. I live in Florida and I have been seeing lots, and lots of out of state plates. Anyhow, onto the projects! I love a good purple/orange combo, especially in the autumn months and for Halloween projects. How about you? Today I am sharing some Halloween projects using new stamps/dies/stencils from Taylored Expressions . To start, a white panel of cardstock was ink blended with orange and purple inks. Then using a MISTI, the spiderweb background image was stamped over the blended background with Oreo black ink, as well as the spiders. Who is ready for some Christmas in July? There is a new kit from Taylored Expressions called Merry Blooms. It has stencils, red rubber stamps, clear stamps, dies and more! For this first card, I started by stamping the leaves onto lime zest cardstock using a Misti tool. There are a few ways to get vivid ink onto colored cardstock. You can either use oxide inks, or use a pigmented white ink, let it dry and then go over the white ink again with the ink color of your choice. For both techniques, using a Misti tool is necessary for perfect stamp placement. Once the leaves were stamped, the poinsettia stencil was used to ink blend the red flowers. Using the clear stamps and coordinating red ink, the stems of the flowers were stamped over the stenciled flowers. The sentiment was stamped in black ink, then to make the card pop, a white pen was used on some of the leaves.   Hello friends!  It is safe to say its summer, and everyone has the temperatures to prove it. I hope everyone is staying cool if you are able to. Taylored Expressions has a small Mini Slim release today. The mini slim line is wildly popular. Its such a cute size of a card and so fun to create with. For this card, I started by stenciling ink onto the card base with a blender brush. Next, using the Thin Frame die and poblano cardstock, a few of the rectangle diecuts were adhered to the card base using glue. The sentiment was stamped in Oreo ink onto the card base. Then the images were stamped onto sugar cube cardstock, colored in with copic markers, cut out and adhered to the card base using foam adhesive.   The kits that Taylored Expressions curates are always so good! This month is no exception. The kit is called Very Cherry and its oh so cute! Before making this card, the color combination running through my head was red/pink, and I wanted to create a patterned paper look. Using the misti tool, the background stamp was stamped onto cupcake cardstock. Using red and green inks, the cherries and the leaves were stamped in. The stencil was adhered over the stamped panel, and using blender brushes, red ink was softly applied. The stamped panel was then adhered to the card front with foam adhesive. Using red and white cardstock and the circle layering dies in the kit, the cardstock was diecut. Before adhering the dies together, the sentiment was stamped in Oreo ink, along with a few hearts in cherry pop ink. Using the clear stamp, a single cherry was stamped and colored in with copic markers then die cut out with the coordinating die. To embellish, a few crystals were added with glue....
