Cool Summer

Image
Hello friends! We are in the middle of June and it is full summer here in Florida, the humidity is thick right now. One definitely needs sunglasses when going outside here, its bright! Are you ready for a super fun Taylored Expressions release? This week its all about summer, and staying cool.  For this bright and bold green and pink card, I started by stamping the Suns Out Background stamp onto lime zest cardstock, then stenciled in the sunglass shades in a few sunglasses. The large sunglasses were diecut and stamped in sugar cube, lollipop, and lime zest. On the solid pink sunglasses, at the top glue was adhered then glitter was adhered. Both sunglasses were adhered to the card using foam adhesive. The sentiment was stamped onto sugar cube cardstock, cut out and then adhered with foam adhesive. To embellish, black drippy drops were added.       This was a fun card to create. Using the misti tool, I was able to create fun ombre stamped sentiments using pin...

You're the Sweetest

Hello friends! It is summer!! Yay!! Summer and Christmas are my favorite seasons. I know Christmas is not a season, but winter is so hard on my body, the only way I enjoy it is to fully embrace the holiday seaons. Anyhow, back to summer! Do any of you have any fun summer travel plans? Because of my husbands job, we have lived away from family (california) for almost 20 years. Typing that number out, made me realize how long I have been away. Most of those 19 years we have lived in the south east of the US. As much as I miss California, the south suits me, and most likely what my children consider home.  When your children get older, its very hard to coordinate their schedules, along with my husbands.  But miraculously we all will get to go to California together, it has been a long time since that has happened. Usually it is just the kids and myself.  I am in need of relaxing, down time to just chill, especially since we have a busy year ahead of us. I plan on wine ...

Hello Friend

Hello friends! Lately I have been on a quest to make pretty cards, that are also mail friendly.  Meaning, they only take one stamp to mail, and will not get ruined from mailing a card with too many layers.  A goal of mine is to send at least one card a week, hopefully more, but one is for sure attainable.  The closest post office is about 30 minutes in traffic, and spending an hour or more to mail a card doesn't fit into my schedule most days.  Thats why I need it to be fairly light with out layers, I know one stamp will do. Yes, the cards I blog I do send to friends. Which brings me to todays beauty.  This is the Strawberry Stamp Set from Technique Tuesday , that is being released today.  Something about fruit just makes me happy, especially strawberries.  Maybe its because it makes me think about a strawberry smoothie from Jamba Juice? Who knows?  But what I do know, is that I love this stamp set!  Its a 4x3 set, with a main strawber...

Life With You is Sweet

Hello friends! Can you believe the year is half over? I for one, cannot, still in denial lol.  What I am happy about is summertime, and this sweet stamp set called Summertime Treats from Technique Tuesday .  The June release is upon us, and boy is it a good one!  For my card today, I stamped the fruit images in black ink, that is alcohol marker friendly. I always reach for Memento Tuxedo black ink when coloring with any kind of alcohol markers, it is my tried and true, never fail ink.  So, after I stamped the images, they were colored in with a few different brands of alcohol markers.  Now that I am looking at the card, I could have added a strip of pattern paper or a bold colored card stock at the bottom of the card, which would help ground it a bit.  But, there really is nothing quite like a clean card with lots of white space. The full reveal of this stamp set is over on the Technique Tuesday blog , as well as another stamp set and several d...
