Interactive Thank You

Image
Do you like interactive cards? Taylored Expressions has made this theater fold interactive die kit, so so easy. You will need to diecut the outer layer, and two inside pieces. But included are pieces already diecut and scored, ready to use.  After die cutting sugar cube cardstock to create the top layer. Using watermelon, candy corn and pinapple inks, the diecut panel was ink blended to create a gradient of red/orange/yellow. A stencil was placed over the panel and ink blended again to create a design.  The thank you sentiment was stamped, then diecut to place over the pre cut and scored diecut pieces. Then using the same stencil and ink colors, to create the same pattern.  When you pull the sides of the card apart, there is a secret area to place another sentiment/image. So fun! I am loving these big bold sentiments with coordinating dies. They really can add that extra zing to a card when you stamp the sentiment onto colored cardstock and diecut it out.  To start,...

Hello & Thinking of You

Image
Hello friends! Taylored Expressions is releasing new stencils and blender brushes today! The blender brushes are smaller, to fit into all the nooks and crannies of your stencils. Which is perfect for stencils where you use a multitude of colors.  Sometimes when creating a stenciled background, I want a muted color and not something as bold and bright as white cardstock. Once the card base and diecut "hello" were created using plum punch cardstock. The process of going through my TE cardstock to find a color that coordinated, started. From past cards, plum punch & peaches and cream go so well together and have been some of my personal favorites, it was an easy decision to make. The stencil was secured over the panel using purple tape. Then using a variety of ink colors and blender brushes, the gradient rainbow was created. Once finished inking a background, the "hello" diecut was adhered to the card using foam adhesive. The crystals were added for a final embell...

Hello Cutie Pie

Image
Hello friends! Just a few more days of March. I'm still in shock that we are almost 4 months into 2021. Today, I am showcasing the Happy Hex stamps/kit from Taylored Expressions . It was released a while back as a kit, and now that you can buy in bits and pieces. But honestly, you will want this kit in its entirely. My favorite is this background (there is a coordinating stencil too). I love how you can create a fun background, add a bold sentiment and be done.   I started by placing the red rubber background stamp into my MISTI, and securing the mini slim card base in place. To create the rainbow background, multiple ink colors were inked onto the stamp and then stamped onto the card base. Wiping and cleaning excess ink off between colors. The Hello and cutie pic sentiments were stamped in Oreo, and the hearts were stamped in coordinating rainbow inks as the background. This is a perfect card to mass produce! Here are a few older cards using this same set.

TE Exclusives

Today Taylored Expressions is releasing stamps that you can now purchase which were once free gift with purchase or exclusive gifts. How fun is that!! At first look, this card looks classy and elegant. But, with further inspection it has a funny sentiment. Its not lying though how true that is. I created a tone on tone background by stamping the spring spray stamp with lavender glaze ink multiple times onto lavender glaze cardstock. Then repeated the pattern onto a smaller white panel. Its a beautiful and easy way to create a card, and the sentiment can be changed out for the occasion. If there is a stamp set that you are on the fence about, take a second look at Big Hello. It has large and small "hello" sentiments in different fonts. In my card I stamped a few different "hellos" in three different inks for contrast, but also to show how well they work tougher too. This is the perfect sketch to mass produce a handful of hello cards to have on hand in your card ...

Hex Kit from Taylored Expressions

Image
Thank goodness for stamping and creating, because it is such a wonderful way to spend my time. Trying to focus on being grateful everyday, and finding small joys. It isn't easy, but I like living in gratitude, it forces yourself to look at the world differently. January is wilding out, thinking its December 43rd, 2020. Nah dawg, its 2021, time to be better lol.  Anyhow, today I am sharing a few cards using the new Hex Kit from Taylored Expressions .  Since I was using 3 different inks on a red rubber stamp, using a MISTI was so beneficial to perfect placement each time. Once the outline of the hexagons were stamped, I grabbed the coordinating hex stencil and ink blended inside the hexagons using blender brushes and the same exact inks. A sentiment and few roses were stamped in the center positions.  Inside of the Hex Kit, there is a clear stamp set. Using the outline image of the hexagon, I stamped the image in multiple colors, then stamped the inside with one of...

Hello there friends! How are all of you doing? This has been not only the weirdest year, but such a strange summer as well. Since my children were little, we have always traveled and vacationed in the summer. So to have canceled trips is just a little sad.  Anyhow, I have a card to share with you today. The image on my card is from Big Acorn which is a new mini 2x3 stamp set from Lawn Fawn . I stamped the images with the Sugar Cookie ink, and then watercolored them. This technique is called no line watercoloring. Because, you cannot see the stamped detail of the images. The sentiment is from the Lets Go Nuts stamp set. Its a fall themed set with the cutest images.  Typically when I am watercoloring, I stick to Fabriano & Arches cold pressed watercolor paper. I just know I will get consistent results with both. To add a little bit of detail to the acorns, I used a white permanent pen and added some dots.  I love the summer months and warm weather. However, many o...

Sending Sunshine

Lawn Fawn is showcasing this stamp set called Rain or Shine before and afters today which is a perfect stamp set to use with the Magic Picture Changer die. However, I just wanted to use the stamp set as is, to show versatility.  The rainbow image, is a rainbow with a sun behind it, and clouds at the bottom of the rainbow. I wanted to have a series of rainbows. The image was stamped several times and colored in. Then using scissors cut out. I left the sun on only one of the colored images and that is how I created the series of rainbows, to create a clean and graphic design. Head on over to the Lawn Fawn Blog , to see how all of the other designers used this stamp set!

Lawn Fawn: Puffy Cloud Borders & Rainbow

Image
Today, I am sharing a few stand alone dies that are brand new to Lawn Fawn.  Stand alone dies, are just dies that can go with any project and do not have a coordinating stamp set to match.  For my project today, I am combining the Puffy Cloud Borders and Rainbow, as well as the hello die. Be sure to head on over to the Lawn Fawn Blog , to win these products as well as to see some great projects using these products! No doubt about it.  These dies to me scream happy!  These would be fantastic to help create fun scenes, especially with the critters.  But for todays card, I created this with just dies (and no stamps can you believe it!).  I can totally see myself using these dies on scrapbook pages as well!  The stitching on the clouds, totally hooked me in, it adds a really nice dimension to the cardstock. This card is pretty easy.  I just die cut everything, and started layering it all on.  I just needed cardstock, the dies, adhes...

To see the full list of winners check the Big News Forum at StampTV a few days after the hops. My first project is a baby card that I tried to make gender neutral, using soft pastel colors.  The hanging stars were stamped using the It's The Little Things stamp set in sweet corn ink.  The sentiment and image were stamped in black ink, and then the fox was colored in using alcohol markers.  I added a little bit of glitter glue to a few of the stars for a sparkly embellishment. My second project is a card using the Vertical Greetings stamp set.  I stamped the image and sentiment in black ink, then co...

The Design Team for Gina K. Designs welcomes you to Day 2 of the May release for another fabulous Inspiration Blog Hop!  Gina and the Design Team will inspire you with many beautiful ideas!  And as you hop through their blogs, make sure to leave a comment on each of them because we will choose a few random comments and those stampers will each win a grab bag of Gina K. Designs products!  To see the full list of winners check the Big News forum at Stamp TV a few days after the hop. For my first card that I am showing you today, I used the set called Simple Flowers by Tami.  I love how Tami always keeps the stamper in mind in all of her stamp sets.  It makes creating beautiful stamped cards so easy (thank you Tami).  I love the Sweet Corn ink pad color, so that was the start of my card, so I just coordinated everything around the pretty yellow color.  A little note, I did not condition these stamps at all.  I stamped them with the new GinaK...
