You're Tops In My Book

Image
Hello friends! I have another new Lawn Fawn card to share with you today! It is from the newest stamp set called Den Sweet Den. It has the cutest little homey stamps that a bear would love. For this card I chose the stack of books, lamp, open book, coffee mug and bear images to create a clean and simple scene. I blended some light yellow ink onto the white card base, stamped the sentiment in black and then added stamped hearts. The images were stamped, colored in with copic markers and then fussy cut out. The images were then adored to the card front with foam adhesive. To embellish a double bow using twine was added. Make sure you are visiting the Lawn Fawn Blog everyday to see the beauful projects shown!

Say Yes To New Adventures

Image
Hello friends! Today I am sharing a card, that is back to basics.  What do I mean by back to basics? Its stamping 101, what you learn to do when you first begin this hobby.  There is stamping to create a custom background, heat embossing and fussy cutting.  This stamp set is called Adventure Awaits from Technique Tuesday .  If you head on over to the Technique Tuesday blog , you can see this full set along with the rest of the August release. I started this card by, stamping the suitcase images with VersaMark ink onto blue cardstock. Applying embossing powder to the image, then heat setting the powder with a heat cut.  I cut the image out with scissors and set it aside.  Next, I randomly stamped the suitcase over the front of a white card base with navy ink. It seemed a little plain, so the airplanes were added. They were stamped in versamark ink, and embossed with the same embossing powder, so everything perfectly coordinated.  The sentiment w...

Hello friends! Today is the start of the sneak peaks for the Technique Tuesday August release.  This stamp set has really cool vintage traveling icons/images with great sentiments called Adventure Awaits. For this card I stamped the globe in black ink, colored it in with copic markers, stamped the sentiment and then added twine to embellish.  Its a simple design, and actually a perfect masculine card. Life Without You

Image
Hello Friends! I hope you all are ready for a new and fun week! Currently I am across the US in California, but I wanted to share this card I recently made.  One night I was just playing around with stamps and watercolors, and this is what I ended up with.  Watercoloring is a fairly new medium for me, so I try to stretch myself creatively as much as I can.  Just a little bit of flowers to brighten your day! I used the Simply You Stamp Set from Technique Tuesday to create this card.  I stamped the images with VersaFine onyx black ink, because once it dries its waterproof.  Then watercolored over the images with Daniel Smith water colors, and embelished with ribbon. Also! Head on over the Animal House section of Technique Tuesday, and as well as the Technique Tuesday Blog . Head on over to the blog and leave a comment. In a few days they will pick a winner from the comments to win the giveaway!  How fun is that? All you do is leave a comment!! ...

Lawn Fawn: Yeti, Set, Go!

Image
Welcome to the October Inspiration week for Lawn Fawn .  Today, we are showcasing the Yeti, Set, Go stamp set.  I really wanted to try and make a simple snowflake scene using the different snowflake images.  The snowflakes were stamped in a light blue ink, and the larger snowflakes, I colored in using a blue Copic marker.  The sentiment was stamped in black ink, and for a simple embellishment, I added clear bling to the largest snowflakes and rounded the corners.  With postage stamps always on the increase, this is a perfect one layer holiday card! Head on over to the Lawn Fawn blog , for more inspiration and for a chance to win this set!!

One layer card

Image
Did any of you play along with the Dare to Get Dirty challenges on SCS ?  I think the challenges are fantastic, some make you think and get out of the comfortable box we keep ourselves in.  It's fun to stretch yourself.  The card below, was a card I created for the 1 layer card challenge...  Yep, no extra layers of paper or card stock except for the card base (I kind of actually love one layer cards).   I embossed around the sentiment (Waltzingmouse Stamps) using a Spellbinders die template, and then I cut/embossed the bottom border of the card using some Spellbinders Edgeabilites.  To finish the card, I added Want2Scrap heart shaped rhinestones, oh and on some of the swirly parts of the sentiment. I really am happy with the way this card turned out, I am thinking about making a few more cards similar, then giving them away as a gift set.  One can never have too many thank you notes hanging around.
