Effortless Greetings by Laurie Willison & Spellbinders

Image
Hello friends. For those who celebrate I hope you enjoy this Easter weekend. How are all of you doing? Quarantine is weird. Some days I am fine and some days I find myself really missing my friends. Missing a great meal at my favorite restaurants or even just the simple pleasure of grocery shopping. Everything seems so stressful. But, I am so thankful that I have a craft room where I can escape and make pretty cards to send out.  Today my friend Laurie Willison has a new line of dies from Spellbinders called Effortless Greetings.  These are made to be use with the Glimmer Machine. The Glimmer Machine allows you to letterpress foil onto your projects.  For this blue card. I used the Framed Details hot glimmer plate. It has this sweeping branch leaves plate as well as a double rectangle frame (that I will show on other projects below), that I foiled in gold. Then using the same blue cardstock and gold foil, I used the Effortless Sentiment Glimmer "thank you" ...

Thankful For You

Hello Friends! I hope you all have had a wonderful summer so far! Today I am sharing a fun new die from Lawn Fawn called Flippin Awesome. It is the easiest interactive die that I have ever used! Some of those dies, make you feel like you need to me a mathematician who went back to school to be a magician. They are hard lol. Anyhow, this new die, paired with the Fall Fling pattern paper, has me wishing for Pumpkin Spice Lattes, and I don't even really like fall! (not a fan of things dying lol) I live in Florida, I can't help it for loving perpetual summer weather, its not my fault hahaha.  But back to this die, and these papers. They are absolute magic together. The Fall Fling paper might be my favorite new product of this fall/winter release. Its that amazing.  I hope you all are following along with the August Inspiration Week on the Lawn Fawn Blog . I might be biased, but the designers are sooo good! Make sure you leave a comment on the LF blog if you ...

Hello friends! Boy is it freezing here in Florida! I am currently dreaming of warmer weather but since  it is winter, I have brand new products from Lawn Fawn to share with you.  There is a new die set called Candy Hearts, and they are stitches along the edge and then have cute sayings on the inside and then one of the dies is a solid heart. I started by applying ink onto white cardstock until I was happy with the color. Once the ink dried, using the heart dies, I die cut the card stock and placed the diecuts aside. Using the portrait heart backdrop die, I diecut a piece of vellum. I then used the vellum as a stencil, and applied the same ink to the card front. The stencil was slightly moved, in between applying inks, to get both colors to show up. Head on over to the Lawn Fawn blog, to see all of the wonderful projects using this new product.

Hello friends! Let me first say, watercoloring is not easy lol. I am on a mission to get better.  Since I have been using copic markers since 2005 (13 years) it is my go to way of coloring, its second nature.  So using watercolor as a medium where I feel I have less control has been a learning process for sure! With that said, todays project is a muted pastel water colored card.  The watercolor paper is from Arches, so its a nice thick paper, it also means it takes longer to dry.  So on one panel I created the background, then on the other I stamped the image and die.  I did not want a white edge along my girl diver, so I fussy cut along the edge of the stamped image. You cannot really tell from the photo, but the diver and the porthole diecut are adhered with foam adhesive giving the card a little more depth. Head on over to the Lawn Fawn blog, to see amazing project using new product as well as a chance to win the release!!

Costume Party

Image
The cutest Halloween stamp and die set from Lawn Fawn called Costume Party, will be available next week.  I had so much fun coloring in these images.  For more inspiration using this set, head on over to the Lawn Fawn Blog for the August Inspiration. I started by blending a yellow and orange ink onto the card base using a foam blending tool.  Next I adhered a strip of black card stock & stamped my sentiment in black ink.  The images were stamped in Memento Tuxedo black ink, and colored in with copic markers.  I wanted them to look like they were holding hands, so I cut them out using scissors instead of die cutting them.  For added dimension the images were adhered to the card using foam adhesive. Happy Fathers Day

Image
Lawn Fawn is having an inspiration week and showcasing some of the newest stamp sets.  Today I am sharing a Fathers Day Card using the new Pland & Simple stamp set.  Being my husband is an aviator, I am loving all of the different creative combinations I can do with these stamps/dies.  Since Fathers Day is tomorrow, I chose the "you're the best" sentiment for the plane banner and the "happy fathers day" sentiment for the card.  I love the combination of blue and greens, so I colored in the banner and plane to coordinate with the pattern paper. For a chance to win this stamp set, head on over to the Lawn Fawn blog , to see all of the beautiful samples using this set.

Bun In The Oven

Hi Friends! Just a clean and simple card today, with a technique.  I used 3 different inks and a mini blending tool, to create the background. The trick is to use the ink lightly and to keep building it up until you like the color.  This does take a little bit of time to create a seamless blend, but its worth it.  I stamped the sentiment in black ink, as well as the images.  I colored the images in with copic markers, cut them out and then adhered them to the card using foam adhesive.  To embellish, I added some twine in the corner. Head on over to the Lawn Fawn Blog , to look at more great projects as well as a chance to win this stamp set!
