Today, the sky is really grey, there is thunder and lightning.  So, as I was skyping with a few of my girlfriends I decided to stamp just for fun.  I don't get to do that enough, it seems like.  I pulled out my Say Cheese & Partly Cloudy stamp sets from Lawn Fawn and made a few cute cards in my favorite colors (red & yellow). Fun Technique Tuesday Color Challenge (prizes involved!)

Image
Hello! Do any of you like Technique Tuesday stamps? Did you know that every month, they host a challenge over at SCS? They do! (and they give away free stamps!) This month, the challenge is to color .  Make a card (or layout) and use crayons, markers, pencils, glimmer mist (anything really), then it is up to you on what you color.  It can be, the image, the background, maybe some ribbon or a brad.  Easy peasy right? If you decide to play, you still have one more week.  The deadline to upload is April 30th.  Make sure when you upload your card to SCS, that you use the keyword TTSCS14 , so we can check out your awesome-ness.  Plus did I mention you can win a free stamp set?  Sweetness! I decided to make a card, and used Copic markers as my color medium.  I am by no means an expert at using Copic markers, but I did a short tutorial on how I colored in the bear. Gather your supplies (stamps, ink, card stock, dies) I pick out my die template based ...

Quick Easter Card

Image
Good Friday to you all. Do you have an Easter plans or traditions you are doing this weekend? My children and I are going to church on Sunday, then we are meeting one of my best friends for brunch, at a delicious restaurant called Taverna (here in Jacksonville). Today, I have a quick and simple shaped Easter card, to share with you.  This sketch can actually be used for any occasion, but since Easter is in just a few days, that is the sentiment I decided to use.   I created a shaped card base and nested layer with S4-161 Labels One , and then added S5-040 Floral Doily Accents . The pattern paper is from Echo Park, the bling is from KaiserCraft, and the stamps are from Stamping Scrapping. I wish all of you a blessed Easter.

What have I been up to? Personal talky post...

I took an unexpected blogging vacation, sorry about that. A few hours after my post went live on Wednesday, I received a call from my friend Kelly.  Our husbands are both deployed together, and she was pregnant with her second child, and could deliver any day.  So, around 4:30 am, she calls to tell me "she thinks it's time to go to the hospital"  After 3 trips to the hospital, 3 attempts at an epidural, lots of pain, contractions and believe it or not, a lot of laughs...30 hours later little Zoe Marie was born via unplanned c-section. Through technology and the stars aligned, our husbands were actually in port, and Kelly's husband was able to see baby Zoe seconds after she was born.  I have a Skype app on my iPhone, and the doctors let me  bring in my phone into the operating room, so that we could skype with him once the baby was born. It really was an honor to be there for Kelly, and communicate to her husband, for her.  It was more special than I can ...
