Do you ever have one of those moments where you realize you needed to send a card in the mail a few days ago?  Then realize it is a Saturday, and you have around 5 minutes to make a card, and haul butt to the Post Office?  That was me today.  I just hope this card arrives on time.  It is the thought that matters most right?  Sorry for the terrible picture, however when it is thundering, lightening, pouring rain & looks like 8pm instead of 2pm, it is a little hard to get an okay picture lol.  Let me tell you, there is nothing like getting your heart pumping, by trying to hurry and get a card done super fast style lol.  It really is cute in real life.  I seriously just used what was out, because I didn't have time to think too much.  The sentiment was stamped onto scrap water color paper, and the cute Sassafras feltie & burlap were sitting on my table from a package I just received from iheartpapers.  Before I forget, the sentiment...

I get a lot of emails asking me how I make shaped cards.  There are a lot of different techniques designers use.  Today I will tell you how I made this card.  I started by making a card base, I believe it was a 4 inch square.  Then, I cut/embossed some pretty My Minds Eye Quite Contrary paper (it is just so happy looking), and adhered it to my card base.  To get the cloud paper to perfectly fit onto the card front, I cut/embossed the paper with the same Lacey Square die.  After that was done, I embellished the front of the card with more embossed die cuts, stamps & ribbon.  Making a shaped card just adds a little extra magic to your card, plus they are so fun to make! Here is a card, using a new release called S4-297 Nested Crowns Shapabilities. I cut/embossed the crowns and then distressed them with a light pink ink.  I thought they looked regal by stacking them on top of each other with foam tape.  I added pearls to the top crown.  I love this cream and pink color combination, it is so soft and feminine.  The sentiment is from Waltzingmouse stamps . After playing along with the Dare to Get Dirty challenges last week on SCS. I realized that I have not shown any of my cards from when I was on the Dirty Dozen. I love this card! The color combination, the flowers along with the ribbon and lace, just make me happy. I stamped the flowers, colored them in with Copic markers & then cut them out. The circle was cut/embossed using a Spellbinders  Standard circles small and Flourish Impressabilities. Sometimes sticking to the basics, using a simple sketch & using minimal product can produce something really pretty. Today, I am showing a congratulations/baby card. When I think of a new baby card, I think of soft colors. So I went with light lavender, ivory, and green.  The image & sentiment are from Flourishes.  After I stamped the image, I colored in the rattle with Copic markers.  I punched a hole in the oval panels, wrapped ribbon around the card & through the hole, then tied a pretty bow. materials used: Spellbinders S4-251 Big Scalloped Ovals LG Spellbinders S4-110 Classic Ovals LG Spellbinders S4-229 Labels Five Copic Markers Ivory card stock satin ribbon foam tape Melissa Frances designer paper

Thank you to all of you who have left me the NICEST comments this past week. It really does mean a lot, and puts a big smile on my face. Today, I am bringing you a fun project using the Lawn Fawn Harold's alphabet.  I am telling you, a little bit of kraft, grosgrain ribbon, a fun pattern paper & an awesome alphabet can make such a fun gift set.  (cannot forget the Spellbinder die templates hee!)  I made a birthday invite, thank you card and treat bag. This ensemble is more feminine, but with a switch of pattern paper this could be really masculine, especially with the green grosgrain ribbon.   Well, all of my CHA projects have been sent off, so I am feeling a huge weight lifted off of my shoulders.  If any of you happen to blog hop, I am sure you have noticed all of the sneak peeks of all of the new product about to be unveiled next week.  I cannot wait to see all of the new stuff!!  Lets face it, we like new stuff!  There are so many produc...
