I shared this card on the Unity blog yesterday, but forgot to share it here. Just a cute simple card. Perfect to send in the mail. When sending a handmade card in the mail, it doesn't have to be fancy.   Simple is ok. It is the thought that matters most. Which reminds me, I need to get a care package in the mail asap!! I hope your Tuesday is wonderful!

This morning the kids and I are off to Lakeland, FL.  It is about 3 hours away, but the drive is well worth it because we are going to a Detroit Tigers vs the New York Yankees spring training game.  It should be a lot of fun!! It is 7:15 in the morning and I cannot find the card I had planned on posting, so here is a card from my November Dirty Dozen Gallery.  The theme was texture.  A clean and simple card, some pattern paper, satin ribbon, embossed panel, embossing on the card front and a nice image colored in with copics.  The image is from Papertrey Ink.  The embossed labels was die cut from a Spellbinders die.

Oh Thursday how do I love you! Why you ask? My children do not have any extra-curricular activities today. This has not happened in weeks.  Weeks I tell ya! I am so excited to have no plans tonight. I have a list a mile long, and it feels like I am going at a snails pace to get it all done. Do you ever have days like that? I am off to the Post Office to mail some things away. Anyhow, here is a card that I made for a call, and it was rejected.  But I still think it is cute anyhow.  We all get cards rejected, but that shouldn't stop us right?!  Anyone who has ever applied for a design team or submitted cards has been rejected.  It isn't a reflection on you or your work, it is just sometimes they are looking for something in particular, and you didn't fit.  Maybe the card you sent in had a blue pattern but they were looking for a card with a red patter...

Today is the first day of spring!!  I don't know about you, but I am ready for warm weather.  This months theme for the Dirty Dozen Alumni challenge is to use a bee or a bird in a card, and you could not use a border punch.  The American Crafts Botanique line of paper is all about spring colors, with pinks, greens and yellows, perfect for this challenge.  It also has coordinating rub-ons, so I used the birds sitting on a branch, and applied them on top of the pattern paper.  To visit the gallery with all of the challenge cards click here . How about some Sassafras Nerdy Bird paper meets American Crafts Dear Lizzy/Thickers  embellishments...talk about fun!!  The music score paper, is perfect for making birthday projects.  I'm not sure if you can see the detail, but the bird and the heart also have a music print on them.  So perfect!!  I like decorating bags, then adding a fun tag to them.  Sometimes a tag is easier to attach, instead of trying to figure out where to  put a card.  Do you have any plans for the weekend?  Besides my son having little league on Saturday, I plan on getting a lot of paper crafting projects completed. For the bag:  Trim paper to size, punch border along the top side, adhere.  Stamp sentiment.  Add embellishments. Tag: Cut rectangle out of card stock.  Adhere pattern paper.  Add embellishments.  Punch hole at the top of the tag.
