Clearly For You

Image
Is it Friday already, holy moly this week flew by!  Today the design team from Flourishes is showing cards using clear card stock, for our Friday Focus.  The clear card stock available from Flourishes is very very thick and sturdy, its not flimsy like acetate.  Its fun to use something different every once in a while for a card base.  The flowers are from the Summer Blossoms stamp set, after I stamped and colored them in, I cut them out & mounted them on the card using foam tape.  I finally got my hands on some new Wisteria Basic Grey paper, boy is that one pretty pack of paper!  Head on over to the Flourishes Newsletter to see today's sneak on the Finishing Touches hardware...one of them being HAT PINS...is that not awesome or what, and they are really really pretty too!! Grateful and Finishing Touches Ribbon Slides

Image
Today, I'm showing you this beautiful ribbon slide that Flourishes is releasing this week, this is part of the Finishing Touches collection.  To learn more about this hardware, head on over to the Flourishes Newsletter .  This is a fairly clean a simple design, very minimal, but by adding the luxurious silk ribbon and a ribbon slide, it just adds that extra touch to the card.  I send my cards out, so its very exciting for me when I can make a pretty card and have it be sent with just one stamp.  The sentiment and image are both from the Poppy set from Flourishes. "grateful" Be sure to visit Julie  and Christine , they are also showing cards today using the ribbon slides, but in Gold and Copper ps and if you are wondering... I have not found a cord yet for my camera, so I am borrowing my 13yr old daughters camera and cord until I get mine replaced >"

Big news and broken camera cord

Hello peeps!!  My camera cord finally went capoot on me.  Off to Best Buy to see if I can buy a new one separate from the camera.  Does anyone know the answer to that?  The little connecter part that goes into the camera broke off and the wires are sticking out now.  Kind of sucky, but I have other things to worry about.  I did the walk through of our house yesterday, found minor blemishes, so I will do the final walk through tomorrow and will go to the closing afterwards.  Woo hoo!! Flourishes is releasing beautiful hardware the next few days, and its called Finishing Touches .  Today over on the Flourishes Newsletter, three ladies of the design team are showcasing, Beautiful Brads and Finishing Florals.  They will come in gold, silver and copper.  Make sure to come back tomorrow, I will be showcasing another item in Finishing Touches...and believe me, you are going to flip when you see them.  See you tomorrow!!

Kazan's sketch #27

Image
This week Starving Artistamps sponsored the 2sketches4you design team.  For my first card, I used a baby carriage, and a striped background stamp, both, from Starving Artistamps.  Kazan's sketch #27, made it so easy to create a card.  There is a baby boom going on around me, so I made two cards, one for a baby boy, and then another card for a baby girl.  This week all of the 2sketches dt are following along with Kazan's sketch #27, an also doing a card we are calling "freedom of expression" card, where we just get to play with the stamps from our sponsor without a sketch.  Only 7 more days until the Ultimate Card Showdown starts!!!  For more information go to the 2sketches4you site, you also want to play along this week for your chance at winning your own stamps from Starving Artistamps. Have a lovely day

Image
I know its a late post for the day, however I could not for the life of me find my camera cord that hooks up to my computer, talk about stress lol.  Yesterday in the mail I received my May Unity kit of the month, it has some really sweet images, so I sat and colored last night.  I found some scraps of paper that went well with my color combination of the house, and tied the card together using some really fun American Crafts ribbon.  The sentiment is from Our Craft Lounge stamps. I hope you all have a lovely day, I think I'm going to clean and organize...then craft later and have a new mess to clean up lol. hugs~ latisha "have a lovely day" materials used: vintage cream card stock cosmo cricket designer paper bo bunny designer paper Unity Stamps Our craft Lounge stamps American Craft ribbon Copic Markers

Memorial Day Weekend

I hope you all have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend, I hope you all take a moment to think about why this day is celebrated.  A day to remember all of our Men and Women who died while wearing the uniform of our country.  A terrible tragedy happened this week in the Naval helicopter community.  A helicopter went down off the coast of San Diego, and 5 families lost a loved one, its beyond sad, and really hard to think about.  So if you have a minute, send good vibes to those families who really need strength right now. On a different note, this rain is causing me pain lol.  We so need the rain, but this is a little much now.  6 days straight of my power flashing and having to re-boot my modem and my network for our house, so annoying.  So that is why no new cards..  Will have something tomorrow >"

Poppy Love

When we lived in New England (New York & CT) in the colder months we would have Nor-Easters.  Right now Florida is having torrential rains because of a Nor-Easter!  What the heck...we really need the rain, its just so weird having the weather man say nor-easter in Florida.  Now if my husband was home, he would go into some long explanation on how that is possible, because all pilots are part weather men lol.    From the bad weather, it has been really hard to have long periods of internet service, kind of frustrating, but you can't fight mother nature.  When there is a fast change of weather, my body kind of freaks out.  We went from 90 degree to the fifties, and now if feels like my bones are about to break.  I've been laying under my covers and just coloring.  I colored this poppy from Flourishes, using Copic markers, then dug through my scraps to find some coordinating paper.  I settled on some Cosmo Cricket Girl Friday, and some Bo Bunny polka dotted dp, then layered it...
