This week for Kristina Werner's Color Inspiration #29 these are the colors she chose: Pumpkin Pie, Pacific Point, Taken with Teal, Elegant Eggplant & Whisper White I would never, I mean never would have put these colors together before.  When I saw the colors I almost didn't want to do it, but I think a challenge is good for you and it gets you out of your comfort zone.  If you want to play along click here and it will take you to her blog. I used the All that Glitters stamp set by Flourishes , I think I'm going to use that set for my Christmas cards this year, I just love the ornaments.   I stamped all three ornaments separately, once in pumpkin pie, taken with teal & elegant eggplant.  I then colored them in with Copic markers that came close to the shades.  After I colored them in I cut them out and put Diamond Glaze over them.  Diamond Glaze dries clear and give it a glass like look.  The bracket looking chipboard was stamped with elegant eggplant (heat set it) ...

This week for the Unity Challenge, Lisa gave us a picture of a grouping of plates to take inspiration from.  I was drawn to the one with the dragonfly on it.  I just used those colors and added the dragonfly from Butterfly Beauty & knew it would be lovely. The flowery stamps are from the Gratitude=Joy stamp set and I generational stamped them.  Thats where you keep stamping the image without reinking the stamp.  I do this with plants/flowers because it gives you a little bit of depth.  I stamped the butterfly twice, once on my card front, and then again on a separate sheet of paper.  I colored in the wings with Copic markers, then stamped over the image with Versa mark, then added heat n stick powder to it, heat embossed it, quickly added dazzling diamonds, heat set it again & wala beautiful glittery wings.  It really looks pretty in real life. I recently got a Starbucks gift card in the mail from a friend who lives all the way across the country from me (boo).  So yesterday when I got my first Pumpkin Spiced Latte of the season, I realized I needed to send a "thank you" card.  So I took out my Coffee with Friends stamp set from Flourishes.  Very simple & post office friendly card.  I paper pieced the coffee cup with some dp. Can you believe its November...what the heck!!  Seriously November!  I need to get a move on fast with my Christmas cards, gifts, planning, trips etc... this is a busy time of year in my household.  Anyhow, so my husband's best friend (who also is in the Navy) had his first child a few days ago, so of course I need a card to send out.  This really only took a few minutes to make.  I plan on sending a gift card along too, so this image worked out nicely, considering I only have one baby stamp set.  Oh and that dp is old, super old, like 6 years old, but its still pretty.  I really need to use up all my paper, I have way too much of it.   I sent out cards last week & OMGosh they charge you twice (surcharge) the price of a stamp if they can feel a bump, or if the card is heavy.  So this card is post office friendly with minimal layers, I will just put a piece of cardstock over the bow, so the post master can't feel it. Today's featured stamper over on SCS is Becca from Amazing Paper Grace .  Seriously her work is amazing, go check out her blog (plus she is giving away blog candy).  She is a lots of layers type of gal, I kept the basic sketch of the card the same, but changed everything else, like the stamps, ribbon, embellishments, ink etc... Because its November and a day closer to Christmas, I turned my case into a New Year/Holiday card.  I need to start making a few Christmas cards every day, so by the time Thanksgiving rolls around I can put them in the mail. Anyhow, the green card stock was from scraps that I had out, but it looks like always artichoke to me, so thats what I'm going with, I also used kraft and vintage cream card stock.  I stamped a few of the panels with the scroll stamp in espresso ink, then went over the scroll with the pine branch in always artichoke ink.  The ornament was stamped, colored with a copic markers, then I went over it with a sakura stardust pen, it makes ...

Here are a few layouts I did last night with some new yummy paper & Unity stamps.  Did you know they make stamps for stampers & scrapbookers?!?!!  So cool IMHO (in my honest opinion).  Jeanne put out a challenge to create something with the word "sweet" so this is what I came up with.  This is my children and I on Pensacola Beach, FL this year on Easter.  My husband was trying to take a picture of us, but we were just laughing, so this other wise imperfect picture is so perfect to me!  The stamp I used is called a Postcard & a memory, I stamped it and then cut it out.  This stamp is huge about 6 inches or so & its awesome!  The felt stickers are Thickers.
