Shaped Christmas Card using Spellbinder die templates & Ginak stamps

November 10th, really?
Is anyone else a little freaked out that there are only 44 days until Christmas?  I am, for sure!  I have a head start on my shopping for my children, well for my son.  Shopping for a 14 year old daughter, is a little hard not to mention expensive.  With my husbands upcoming deployment, we will have family visiting for 2 weeks in December, which means I need to be really organized and squared away.  I really like to enjoy the holidays, so I am trying to get some Christmas/Holiday cards done a little early.

I love to make shaped cards, and using my Spellbinders die templates make it so easy.  For the base of this card I took out my Grand Labels One dies.  I cut/embossed some card stock, then scored it down the center to create the base of the card (around 3 x 6 inches).  I did the same using some pretty pattern paper.  I stamped the smallest ornament from the GinaK Heirloom Ornament stamp set, using some Brilliance ink.  I then used the coordinating die from the Spellbinders Heirloom Ornament Nestabilities set, placed it over the stamped image and cut/embossed the card stock.  If you get worried about your die or card stock moving, just tape the die down.  I ran some ribbon around the card, tied a bow, then attached the die cut ornaments to ribbon using twine.  After I stamped the sentiment, I added some bling to the ornaments.

Supplies used:
Spellbinders LF-161 Grand  Labels One
Spellbinders S4-283 Heirloom Ornament
GinaK Heirloom Ornament stamp set
Brilliance ink
We R Memory Keepers paper
white card stock
KaiserCraft bling
May Arts twine
American Crafts ribbon
Maya Road flower

I love it! The shape is great and still allows for it to stand up, lots of times a card with a shape will not stand alone. Thanks for the ideas.

The first blog and I'm totally impressed! I absolutely love the simple elegance of this card! And another arguement for me purchasing this SB set! Well done!
May watchful eyes protect and guide your hubby while on detachment. Just know you'll look back on these times and say "wow, we're a strong family!" (spoken like a fellow military wife huh!)
