Guest Designing this month for...

A few months ago, well more like October or so, AJ (the DT coordinator for Unity) contacted me, and asked if I would like to Guest Design for Unity.  It was a very easy yes!  My very first Unity stamp set was Butterfly Beauty (but mine had the dragonfly in it).  When the stamps arrived, and I saw the size of them and how well they stamped, I was an instant fan.  Sorry for all of the chit-chat, I am just very excited!!  The bottom line is....love Unity, the energy, the people, and the flair of the designs.  For those of you who are new to Unity, go to their blog and website to see what I'm talking about.
Okay, now onto my cards for today.  When I am thinking about buying a stamp set, one thought runs through my head, is it versatile?  Today, I will show you two different cards using the same stamp set called Kitchen Logic.  What first caught my eye in this set, is that fabulous apron (I have a thing for apron stamps), its line art, meaning lots of possibilities.
For this first card, I paper pieced the apron with paper from the 6 x 6 Sugar Rush paper pad (Basic Grey).  I love to mix and match patterned paper, but it all needs to be tied together somehow.  If you look on the apron, you can see on the trim I used paper with stripes on it.  Almost every color of the rainbow is in that pattern, so I just grabbed papers that would coordinate with it.  The base is Bo Bunny (love those dots), the green grid dp is American Crafts, and the orange polka dot paper is also from the Sugar Rush pack.  The yellow ribbon and punched border are from PTI as well as the kraft.

For my second card, I went a little cleaner look with lots of white/cream space.  Using the same apron stamp, I stamped it in a pink ink and then colored it in with Copic markers.  After I was done coloring and shading, I took a clear & white glaze pen from Sakura and made dots all over the image to create some depth and texture.  The card base is 4.25 inches by 4.25 inches, and the bottom corners are rounded.  The pink flowered lace I "think" is from May Arts, but I could be 100% wrong on that.  The apron was embossed and cut out using a Spellbinders Die, then popped up using foam tape.

Thanks for joining me today!
