Friday Focus using solid image stamps

The ever fabulous Leslie challenged us to make a card using solid image stamps this week for the Flourishes Friday Focus.  When using solid image stamps or silhouettes, you pick your image, color of ink, then start stamping, its as simple as that.  I believe that is why so many people are attracted to that style of stamp, they are easy to use.
For my card, I stamped the poppy image from Summer Botanicals in red ink, then took the dragonfly image from the Summer Blossoms set and stamped it in black ink, onto some Cosmo Cricket Dutch Girl designer paper.  Before adhering my designer paper onto the black card stock, using a distressing tool I distressed the edges of the paper.  To take the card to the next level, I used some lovely red/cream gingham ribbon and attached a tag and button to the center of the bow.
"thank you"

Head on over to the Flourishes Newsletter to see Leslie's tutorial
then,
take a blog hop to check out what the design team has created.

On a side note, so very sad that Michael Jackson died yesterday.
Everyone who knows me well, knows that these two songs are my favorite songs of all time.  I was born in the 70's and MJ had an influence on my life, along with Madonna, The Beastie Boys, Run DMC,  Cindy Lauper just to name a few.  I was just a little girl when the Off the Wall album came out, and I got it on a 45 record, then a few years later when I finally got a pink boom box for Christmas, the Off the Wall tape was in my stocking, it was my first tape I ever owned.

Watch the videos you will have to dance and a smile will appear on your face!!

Don't stop until you get enough

Latisha, I absolutely adore your card! What a fun and creative way to use those stamps! On your side note, I am with you about MJ. The first poster I put up in my room was of him on his Thriller album. I would play that and dance and dance and dance. I laugh now but those were fun memories!

OMG, Don't Stop . . . is one of my all-time favorites EVER! I used to rollerskate, yes, I said rollerskate, to that song at skating parties! I've had the YouTube video playing quite a few times already today. His death is very sad indeed!

Gorgeous card. I love that ribbon!

I absolutely love the poppies in red on the designer paper! What a darling card and a brilliant design. It was a shock about Michael Jackson. A very sad end. Things went a little sour for him and I think his whole life story is sad, actually. My gosh, what a legacy he leaves.

I'm right there w/ you...so sad MJ passed away. I have always loved his music and was fascinated to watch him dance. I am sorry that his life was so surrounded by turmoil and suspicion. A sad day indeed.
